If this is true, I think the first opportunity under this new political era to legally test the rights of governors to hire and fire LGA chairmen at their whim has just presented itself. If the election of these council officials is actually in accordance to the law, then APC should do the needful by challenging the governor's action in court.

And the APC in Adams Oshomole Edo state suspended elected council chairmen what did APC do, did they go to court.
Man its illegal that conduct of chairmanship election in Rivers State.

Court stopped the election from holding, Amechi then went ahead to conduct the shamble election where it was only APC that campaigned for the election after 4 days of Local Government election notice.

Wike has done the best thing. They should go, then Transition LG Chairmen should take over from them....

Ordinarily I would not want to join issues with you because you sound partisan. I am neither APC nor PDP, but an informed Nigerian who yearns for true Democratic development. Because one party has done something wrong and was not challenged/ brought to order does not mean that impunity must continue. For instance, since 2009 legislators have cross carpeted with the mandate they hold on behalf of their parties and constituencies in contravention of the constitution mostly in favour of PDP,and non of the parties challenged this legally until it was done against PDP, who pursued the case at the courts, but for the short time left, they would have gotten the defecting legislators to vacate their seats in the 7th national assembly. This happened despite PDP benefitting from defections in the past. Since you seem to be against doing the right thing because someone got away with wrong doing, so was it right or wrong for PDP to go to the courts. Think over that, and even over what your expectations are concerning Nigerian Democratic development if you have any.

If Ameachi's government ruled with impunity, must impunity continue in Rivers or elsewhere because your preferred candidate is in power? Legislators have been defecting and retaining their seats since 1999, but no one will try it again and go Scott free just because PDP challenged and almost got the last set of defectors to lose their seats in the last national assembly. Now since you appear to have PDP sentiments, was it right for them to take the defectors to court or not, considering that PDP had received the bulk of defectors in the past? Because some people defected without tangible reason and went unchallenged, does it mean our democracy must proceed in that wrong direction? Go and think about that.

The PDP is going to be snatched back from the SS/SE by Saraki, Kwankwaso, Atiku and the remaining nPDP members that decamped to the APC. That's one of the reasons for the revival of the party through Saraki.

On what ground? Is it even constitutional for Wike to sack people that were elected into office even though they are under him?.
