It depends on what and what you already have on ground, and what system of poultry management you want to adopt.
-do you have a land space or an already constructed poultry house.
- do you have a good source of water
-do you plan to rear the birds in cages or on a deep liter .
-do you plan to start with day old chicks or about-to-lay birds.

Being able to answer these questions will put you in a better position to know how much you can start with.
