When Is It Right To Tell Your Adopted Child That He/she Was Adopted? by Nobody: 8:05pm On Jun 12, 2015
I have seen couples who find this difficult especially when their adopted child is of age, they are torn in between telling the child if he/she was adopted or simple leave things the way they are.

Is there any perfect time or situation when it is right to tell such a child that he/she was adopted or is it better not to since the child already sees you as a parent.

What do you think guys?.

I think once the child in question is old enough to handle the news... Maybe from 18 years should be fine.

ILL NOT WORRY ABOUT THAT ONLY WHEN HE/SHE ASKS. JUST SHOW LOVE LIKE ANY PARENT WOULD

In my opinion, it's best the parents start opening up to him gradually from when he is a child. As he grows older the idea that he is adopted would have already be ingrained in him.
By the time his reaches his late teens he would have already come to terms with the fact that he is adopted but all the same, he would still see the adopted parents as the only parents he actually knows. He would still accord them with the respect and love he would have accorded his biological parents.

But if parents break this sort of news to an already grown child especially one in his late teens and above, the child would feel betrayed. He would begin to develop hate and anger towards the adopted parents for not telling him earlier.
He would begin to see his adopted family differently from the way he had seen them.

I'll say early enough , at least before the child is grown up because of the adverse effect it could have on the child if he/she is told when they're grown up .

Buh seriously, is it REALLY necessaryhuh As long as there is peace and harmony in the family. If God will bless me with the financial stability iPray for, I plan adopting child even if he blesses me with boys and girls as kids. I soooooo much love kids!

Good point. The earlier the better.
