My Objective Take On The Sudanese President's Arrest - Cramjones by Nobody:
The government of South Africa granted access to the President of Sudan, His Excellency Omar Al-Bashir, into their country for the AU meeting, only for them to arrest him, citing a warrant of arrest by the ICC for alleged war crimes he committed.

I find this action by the SA government very despicable, self-serving and above all condemnable. Why has Africa and its leaders become so weak that our continent is trampled and subdued by the West, China, India, etc? Who do we really have power over? Why have we become so backward, and left ourselves and our continent at the mercy of every Tom Dick and Harry that are non-African. The AU was utterly useless when the west came and overthrew Ghadaffi, who presided over one of the best countries in Africa in almost all indices. They left it in ruins, caused the death of their Ambassador, and delivered the country to the hands of several militias and terrorsits.

While Omar Al-Bashir may be guilty of the crimes the ICC has accused him of, it is not the role of SA to carry out the arrest. George W. Bush who is presently chilling in Dallas, Texas caused the death of an estimated 1 million Iraqis for a war that was borne out of a complete lie. We all know there was no weapons of mass destruction, but yet people continue to die till this day because of the greed of people like G.W. Bush. Why is AU as a body not calling for the arrest of G.W Bush? Why is the AU so powerless? This same AU could not even build a headquarters of their own. They allowed China to donate a $200 million headquarters in Ethiopia. Ofcourse this headquarters have been completely bugged by the Chinese. Why is South Africa silent about that? Even Jacob Zuma himself allowed xenophobic killings to fester in his country. No one did anything except Nigeria, Malawi and Zambia who took very concrete diplomatic steps to put SA in its place.

We have licked the asses of the west and China for too long. We have smart people, we have the resources, we have access to information, we are a powerful continent, and we must recognize our place in the world. I totally condemn the actions of Jacob Zuma and his government, and I urge all African governments to pressure Jacob Zuma his government to do the needful. This must stop!

Has the arrest been effected?
If yes, when are they coming After jonathan, at least for supervising the killing of over 20,000 unarmed Nigerians?

Sir, my LLB Project was done on Sudan crisis. ICC arrest is not a conviction for crimes. I wish African leaders can all be answerable to their own judicial system instead of the likes of ICC and Interpol running after them. But are our leaders answerable- No. who sufferrs. ordinary people. I don't know what this arrest means but I hope the accused can help bring peace through negotiation. that is more important now than jailing him and still losing the peace.
