A friend of mine just received an interview invite for a Web/Social Media Administrator. He studied Business admin.

Seeing as this post is somewhat more related to computer and web design stuff, the guy is confused. He doesn't know much about web and social media stuff and the job description is kinda intimidating to him.

He's thinking of ignoring the invite but then, its from a big company.

What do you think he can do? Should he forget it or give it a try?

Sounds like a big complex stuff, but its not, its a job for someone with a great sense of humor, patience and understanding.

More like brand promotion on social platforms like Facebook and the likes.

The role has nothing to do with web design. It has more to do with managing the company's online presence, like answering customers' questions on social media, updating the company's page with good contents, etc. A sound graduate of any discipline can handle the role. Use Google for more info on the role.

So true.I attended an interview there last year.Beside trem church,Anthony. They asked me to bring #12k that they would give me some kits to go and introduce to people.From there I could make some money.I later discovered it was drugs.I wanted to leave.They insisted I pay the money as if it was by force.

Exactly! Nothing technical here. Just exactly what u do on Nairaland here. Brand imaging ur coy on social media and attending to customers queries there. If you have good communication skills (written) and ability to manage visual contents, go for it.

If he has a some time between now and the interview, he can under go a crash course and then give it a try. The worst that could happpen is that he might get rejected. Still, he'll have a new experience. Nothing to lose.

i smell dsame too....dos GNLD are slowpoke...d day i falll into their trap by attending their interview, although i went because it close to my resedence. It was a very funny interview cos at a point d table turn around in d couse of d interview and i stated interviewing them n bombarding dem with Qs out of my anger for their wastin my time.....my interviewer said she make 150k weekly and travle out 4confrenc regularly...but after all her lies, i check her shoes and suit, oboy, we we come interview sef dey more dressedup....bsid she look like person wey go never return to 9ja if she step out of 9ja border

I have similar experience though I will be going for the interview tomorrow. I received job invite and cant remember when i applied, my problem now is dat i don't even know d job role or position. When i called d number dat sent d text, i was told dat it was U-connect dat refer dem to me. So i am going for d interview because i heard 'U-Connect' sign of genuine invitation, u know. But i as i write dis, i am yet to know d position i will be interviewed for. I visited d place on Saturday to make inquiry i met someone in the premise who told me dat the firm is into recruitment as interview is usually conducted there. Although i was told the dont open on Saturdays, so i couldn't get further details.

i went for AIICO's interview, isolo branch about 3 months ago. the interview was so interactive & interesting. when it got to how much i would like to be collecting, i said the company should use their payment structure, but my interviewer insisted i name an amount, i tried to dodge it but the interviewer cornered me everywhere, then i said the company should give the shot. my interviewer smiled @ me and gave me a promising assurance that i would be contacted. my broda, i tell you till today i no hear from the guy o...
