dougivilla:I am still growing....so I take your advice in good faith. On a more serious note....PDP did mess a lot of things up....which APC i hope fixes....and if they do not fix it....out they go in 2019....and back come PDP or maybe APGA or KOWA.....until those lazy Nigerian politicians know we mean business. Again, I thank you for your admonition to grow up.I will take it to heart. You are very kind to advise me well, sir. |

obailala:Before you finish calling people names, are you aware that PMB said it was a disgrace for Nigeria to have foreign soldiers on our soil to tackle our internal insurgency? Abi you wan see the video?? Apart from the first 'strong' condemnation, what else has your super hero done? Over 600 died already and you are here defending a travelling president in the midst of these deaths smh for you Your hero is travelling round the world to invite the same foreign soldiers to come and do the same thing, rather than talk about his hypocrisy and your stupidity for embracing such hypocrisy, you choose to call those who dare pick holes in his actions names. What name fits you ?? |

dougivilla:I'm sure you are a reasonable and enlightened person so you should be able to understand what I'm about to explain. I guess you must have arrived at you above conclusions because you lacked the right information. 1. Buhari said it was a disgrace for Nigeria to have foreign soldiers on our soil helping us fight the insurgency. Buhari still stands by those words. 2. Boko Haram gets most of it's supplies from across the borders, they also retreats to neighbouring countries whenever they please to regroup, refresh themselves and plan further attacks. 3. The supplies of Bokoharam would be cut-off if the terrorists are not allowed to freely cross the borders. Remember, Nigerian soldiers cannot freely chase fleeing terrorists beyond our borders. 4. Buhari seeks the cooperation of neighbouring countries in blocking their borders to prevent BH terrorist from having free passage. 5. Buhari is not advocating for Chadian or Malian or Camerounian soldiers to cross into Nigerian territory to help us fight the insurgence. That will be a disgrace and that is exactly what happened under GEJ which Buhari condemned. Buhari has always been an advocate of neighbourhood cooperation to tackle the insurgency; but that doesn't mean the neighbours should step into Nigerian territory to fight our war for us just like it happened in Konduga and some other places under GEJ. There is a clear difference in both approaches and I believe I have explained the difference clearly for all of those shouting 'hypocrisy' to understand. |

obailala:Sir, can you please explain what a joint military force means? These were Buhari's exact statement: “I am inclined, on account of the above, to suggest for Your Excellencies’ consideration that Nigeria retains the position of the Force Commander of the MNJTF for the period of the war effort. This command will be to the effectiveness of military strategy, since Nigeria will be providing the bulk of the troops and the main theatre of the war is on Nigerian soil.” Your assumptions would have been best if and only if was what the president meant is what you mean! |
| Re: Buhari To Visit Cameroon Over Boko Haram by obailala(m): 4:50pm On Jun 15, 2015 |
dougivilla:What the president meant is exactly what I explained. Buhari has never hidden his disapproval of foreign forces engaging and even leading battles on Nigerian soil when we still have soldiers. Bokoharam is presently a regional problem and Buhari's intention is for Nigerian forces to lead in the war. It was becoming increasingly embarrassing when it kept filtering in the news that Chadian or Camerounian forces were liberating Nigerian towns. http://www.punchng.com/news/nigerian-soldiers-afraid-of-recaptured-boko-haram-towns-chad/ http://www.naij.com/364827-chad-to-send-troops-tanks-to-nigeria-to-fight-boko-haram.html http://www.aljazeera.com/news/africa/2015/02/chad-troops-enter-nigeria-fight-boko-haram-150203175257536.html If you read through some of these reports, you will realise that foreign troops did not only help Nigeria liberate some towns, they actually stayed put to guard the liberated towns long after the terrorists have been expelled. Even the Chadian troops at some point wondered why Nigerian troops had not come to take hold of already liberated towns. In fact, the whole world kept asking how a sovereign nation like Nigeria would allow foreign troops from less sophisticated, weaker countries to not only fight and liberate its territory, but also stay in place for weeks. Buhari always reiterated that the only help Nigeria needed from its neighbours was simply for them to secure their borders and prevent the free flow of weapons for BH. |
