I'm excited about the Cech news and hope it's true. If we then add a WC striker and maybe a DM to Cech (though I'm not really fussed about a DM), we should be good to go |

Specialist900:Higuain was Arsenal bound but something happened last minute. I'm sure the agent or someone confirmed this last month ![]() As for Cech, I don't have any info asides what you guys probably know. I know for certain Arsene/Arsenal are interested and we have made our intent known. I also know Cech is willing. What I don't know is if Mour/Chelsea will let him join us |

edi287:Gazidis said even though he wants Cech, Arsene is not keen on any new signings- he claims to have a balanced squad already. Bad news for WOBs. |

Spy360:Wenger himself is not that daft. This squad as it is will not smell 3rd place talk of "challenging" for the league next season. You think chelsea, city and manure won't improve their squad? |

Specialist900:True we have 2 goalies but though Ospina was brought in to provide competition for WS1, he probably hasn't done enough in AW's eyes hence the quest for Cech. It might also be a case of Cech being available and AW/Arsenal seeking to take advantage. If Cech comes in, I want believe WS1 will have to go on loan. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by proudlysports: 12:06pm On Jun 17, 2015 |
During the kit launch on Sunday(?), Santi Cazorla said 'if' we add new players, we should compete for the EPL title next season. Even the players recognize that we need at least 2 additions. AW has been trying to sign a forward for 2/3 seasons now. He knows we need one. Sadly (not unexpected IMO), Sanogo has not lived up to whatever Arsene saw when he bought him. |

Up Gunners! It is being a very long time I contributed on this forum. I sincerely appreciate those that have been keeping the house going. May God bless you all! I think we only need two or three additions to make us challenge for the EPL. |

diggz:Cech has one year left. If he doesn't leave now, he'll leave for free next season or even in January. Moreover he won't stay on the bench at Chelsea for another season. |

| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Spy360(m): 10:01pm On Jun 17, 2015 |
proudlysports:We must understand the motive behind a signing. Sanogo just as Campbell was not brought to immediately lead the lines. He is still developing. Actually he showed some talent by finishing top scorer at the last U20 WC which France won. He formed the main core of that team together with Kondo and Pogba. Specialist900:Yes but he is too good to pass by especially when the possibility of nailing him is clear. He is better than our two goalies thats for sure. |

pickabeau1:I'm not dismissing Cech's quality. I'm only stating that David Ospina statistics last season was good. Moreso, he wasn't developed by us he was bought. You shouldn't have headache and be treating stomach pain |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by proudlysports: 11:23pm On Jun 17, 2015 |
Spy360:If it's to make money when he's sold off in a few years, then maybe yes. I do not see Sanogo as that 'top, top' player fit enough to lead the lines at Arsenal in years to come. But then, I no be God so I have to leave room for miracles. Specialist900:At £11m? I'd jump at the opportunity. A top GK can help a team win up to 10 extra points in a season. There were games Chelsea would have dropped points last season but for Courtois. Cech will only be a no1 at Arsenal for 1 or 2 seasons max. I'm a big fan of WS1. I even tipped him as no1 keeper on this forum when he was at Brentford and Almunia was our no1. I got loads of stick back then. I still rate him as a very good goalkeeper. He made some extraordinary saves at Brentford when he was there on loan. You should watch his performance for Poland against Germany a few months ago. I still expect him to be our no1 in future if he manages to clear his mental issues. For now, I believe he needs to go on loan somewhere in England. Perhaps a struggling side where he will need to be on his toes in every game. It will do him a lot of good. He's someone who gets too comfortable when there's no challenge. As for Martinez, I've never rated him. He shouldn't be our no 3. We had a better youth goalkeeper in James Shea. A far better goalie in my opinion. Martinez is only no 3 because our other academy keepers are not up to standard. |

^^^ Exactly! If we were buying one obscure GK now, I for dey complain. But it's Petr Cech . Unless he's a Mour agent coming to concede some cheap goals ![]() As it is, from what I just heard, barring any last minute hitch, Cech to Arsenal is a don deal. But wait to see it on the dot come before celebrating Interestingly, IF Cech does come to Arsenal, his first game may be the Charity shield game against Chelsea ![]() |
