dearpreye:he maybe a direct or an indirect beneficiary of the largese. Anyway, that shouldn't in anyway distract us. Everybody cannot be in Abuja and Lagos at the same time. I think you guys in Rivers, those in Enugu, Kano, Kaduna and Oyo states should have no reason not to participate in this protest. |

Mynd44:Bro I understand you're saying but I believe we showing our displeasure isn't just about this allowance, but about the high handedness and massive over spending on the NASS members. barcanista:Why not make it 9am-12noon. 7am seem too early putting into consideration Lagos traffic on Friday night. |

Am in, in Lagos though @ Barcanista. Like someone pointed out, LAHA should be occupied on a busy day like Monday. There shld also be a takeoff point and pls make sure the media got this covered. It's high time we put a stop to this nonsense. We sent them there to protect our interest not to plunder our collective inheritance. Let's know the time and place |

Arogunmasa:My brother, I suggested saturday because it is first and foremost a non working day for most of us, we can easily attract media attention since journalists are usually less busy on weekends and we won't just protest on that day and return hom. We will stay there to welcome legislators that will resume business on monday. I suggest that we meet @Ojota by that 9am and March to Alausa in group. Cc Joseph1832 |

torkaka:Protests have its place here bro. Occupying NASS is capable of making the assembly have a voluntary change of heart. Your approach has never worked in Nigeria and may never work especially when you consider that such senseless money is what the thieves will later use to buy the electorates during election. Why not do anything and everything possible to make them stop collecting such money NOW that the deed is not done? Why wait till they might have taken and used the money to silence you further? |

PassingShot:I know you don't like me (though I love you any day) but I can't help but to say "Kudos to you on this". I feel ashamed that all the politicians in the NASS are united in this (including my brother that was making noise on twitter before his inauguration). |

joseph1832:Though tokaka raised a good question (what next after the demand has been met?). My proposal is that we nominate from among ourselves some people that will be tasked to probe into the earnings of Federal legislators, come up with a proposal for a REAL cut that is commensurate with their job (not just "salary cut" ![]() #A proposal though 1 Like |

PassingShot: . . . . . . . . . . .how long can you hold such a protest in the raining season? . . . . . . . . . . .at what point do you envisage that people will break and go back home? . . . . . . . . . . . .I repeat, start with your individual representatives, that way you will force them to talk and say where they stand (instead of hiding behind a collective decision) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . it is high time one of these assembly members is made a scape goat using the recall power . . . . . . . . . . . .if 109 and 360+ are faced with a recall, what are the chances of not catching one fish? 1 Like |

barcanista:Okay. What's the distance from Ojota to Alausa? I will truly hate for us to disrupt traffic flow with our march as such a thing can attract police attention and they with their stupidity may come and disband us saying we didn't obtain 'police permit or report' or whatever its called for the march!. torkaka:I believe its obviously stated! You rally a crowd to show your displeasure over matters that affects you negatively!. ECOTERRORS:Yes you are right!. When it comes to money and punny! They tend to think alike. Imagine how Ben Bruce before being sworn in was raining fire and brimstone only for him to come here and start saying NASS members are one and collective bla bla bla!. barcanista: I don't like you? You must be funny really to equate not liking some of your ways (inconsistencies, if you like) to not liking you. To say that one is ashamed of Ben Murray Bruce is an understatement given what he promised before they were sworn in. His statements on this allowance thing are very disheartening and hope-killing. On the other hand (and surprisingly), Dino has remained consistent. I have always said it that it is pure IDIOCY for anyone to blindly side with any politician IF he is not directly benefitting from his/her largesse. The only thing we stand to gain from the politicians as a people is through good governance they provide. Once they fail in that, we will be stuupid to support them. 3 Likes |
