Parents need to step up in their responsibilities. The TV stations have a lot of blame but in your house, You are the authority.

Because there's a TV set doesn't mean the children have to watch it.

Even when they do, there should be monitoring and screening. If you know you don't have the time for this, the children don't have to watch the TV. Let them read story books.
