Do you agree? Degrees vs. experience, which matters more?

Well, i think you can get a job with either. But it all depends on the kind of job we're referring to here. Of course if you are talking about a good paying and challenging job here, both will be considered, but majority is gonna be more of your degree..the experience is likely to come as an added criterion..

Degree helps you to get ur first job easier
Experience and how well you can do that job can help you move faster and higher in that job and keeping that job

Degree first follow by experience, and if you has both you have more advantage of getting a job than somebody with just Degree without experience.

Depends on the kind of job. For instance there are so many skilled jobs that requires experience compared to the so called white colar jobs, so for this reason the probability of a skilled man getting a job is higher than that of a degree holder. #QED

I think it depend on the kind of job. Your need experience for unskilled job and degree for skilled ones.

Both have their places. Degree gets you entry to Experience.

for naija na degree..even so many olodos are bosses to the smart ones..na pali sure pass for naija,even if you have no idea of what you are doing the degree will keep you in the job

what do you mean by waste of time

Depend on the sector of of the economy actually. In telecomunications(engineering),degree won't fetch you the dough you deserves........experience does. Atleast I know a lot of OND graduate with much experience earning far better than BSC holders.

IT depends.Most white collar jobs need more of degree e.g banking while experience comes in in jobs like programming,engineering,. .jobs like lawyers often need both exper_ and degr_.

Some time in dis countrry some is confuse becos if u go to sum company they will ask for degree n if u go to another they ask for experence only God can help us

Experience always trumps degree, even at entry level these days.

Experience is more valuable in my opinion but for some roles without a degree cos of the requirements u may never be employed.

What's the point of having degrees without experience and experience without degree. The two go hand in hand cos degree would teach you what u need to know and experience would help u practice what uv been taught.

degree launches the job for you...while experience helps u sustain and maintain your stay on the job....

you need both.

it depends actually.......having certain professional certifications and experience without a degree gets you jobs faster nowadays. Most importantly, having to demonstrate adequate knowledge of the position during interview most times makes the certificate less important for whatever consideration.
