You need to sit for English test in order to do your assessment with Engineers Australia and also to gain immigration point. You need minimum of 60points in order to be considered. I would advise you to prepare hard for your IELTS so as to achieve good band.

I want to use this medium to welcome back the 1st lady of the house, Mrs BossLadyMo. Its a priviledge to see you here again.

I lost it in this July, so I set a target for next february. But after the advice from malkinburg and NNB2012, I am now considering giving the PR a shot.

I studied mechanical Engineering and the first job I got was in same field (R&A) but I did it as a contract staff. So the name of the employer on my offer letter and pay slips was the recruitment agency, not the company I worked itself. Do you think this will be accepted? Also I did it for 2 years only. Since Engineers Australia require 3 yrs of experience, can I combine it with my one and half years of experience in my new company? My new company is a telecoms, but my job there is mostly mechanical. Pls help me out friends. Thanks y'all

It's strange to read from your post that Engineers Australia needs 3yrs work experience before one could be assessed. It is not so. However, you may find it difficult to write your CDR particularly if your degree is non-accredited. Also you won't get any point for your migration. It doesn't matter the type of company you worked with. Just get reference letter that meets Engineers Australia specifications from them. It's strange to read from your post that Engineers Australia needs 3yrs work experience before one could be assessed. It is not so. However, you may find it difficult to write your CDR particularly if your degree is non-accredited. Also you won't get any point for your migration. It doesn't matter the type of company you worked with. Just get reference letter that meets Engineers Australia specifications from them. I would strongly advise you to go for assessment in Mechanical Engineering instead of Telecomm so that you won't be given Engineering Technologist at the end.

Forgive me bro, am very naive about PR...never had interest. I guess my degree is non-accredited since it a Nigerian degree. So please how do I go about it, since I must write the CDR? Also, the reference letter I already have from them is not detailed. Should I go back to them and appeal to them to detail it? Like what and what does EA really want to see in the reference letter? This is for Agric pple and those who passed through Vetassess. You can raise a statutory statement for ur self-employment years and include ur NYSC days since u were paid.

Touch down Dubai 7:25a.m (4:25a.m. Naija time).
IOM representatives came was waiting for me at Dubai and they gave me a first class Marhana treats...love.

The person stayed with me me after a short tour at the airport and gave me free wifi for 1 hour too.

Boarding time she boareded me first and gave me fare well.

No questions asked in dubai during boared/checking, mayb because IOM ppl were there with me.

Those still planning to apply, do so ASAP those waiting i wish u ALL positive outcome.

Mobuchi i dey wait u for sydney.

IELTS first....score 8.0 or above and go deal with EA...Superior bands across the board will give u 20pts and grand total of 65 ..then move on to EOI and u cld be invited for visa lodgement within two weeks.

You mean 3yrs of relevant work experience won't even get u 5pts? If u do get, that will relieve u of the superior bands as 7.0 or above all bands will do the math-60pts.

This is my understanding. .let ur pple come with CDR and stuff.

after more than 3months of waiting I got d shock of my life from Pretoria (visa denied) I Neva saw it coming... assessment level3.
reasons... (1)I didn't including any family members in my form157A
( 2)I do not have a financial or home tie to my country.
(3) d fact am single.
with some other reasons that I carefully stated it in my SOP.
am just saying this for other to learn one tin or d other.....

sorry for replying late.. couldn't lay my hands on fone I hope u all know how it feels.
I have dusted n already pik my self up...I just want to tell future applicants on dis forum... pls do try SVP n PR route. not saying dis cos I was denied but documentations n all. I coached people who got visa but on SVP, less documents n quick response from Pretoria. it is because my aged care n nursing was not fall under SVP.

Joint media release - The Hon Christopher Pyne MP, Minister for Education and Training, Leader of the House and Senator the Hon Michaelia Cash, Assistant Minister for Immigration and Border Protection

Minister for Education and Training, the Hon Christopher Pyne MP, and Assistant Minister for Immigration and Border Protection, Senator the Hon Michaelia Cash, today announced the introduction of a simplified international student visa framework (SSVF) to support Australia’s education services sector.

The changes will mean:

• a reduction in the number of student visa subclasses from eight to two, and

• the introduction of a simplified single immigration risk framework for all international students.

“Australia is open for business and welcomes genuine and high quality international students who provide a much-needed boost to our economy, our local communities and jobs, and who boost our country-to-country relationships,” Minister Pyne said.

“We warmly welcome genuine international students and we are committed to improving and protecting the integrity of our immigration system.”

“After coming to office the Government moved immediately to improve competitiveness and it is pleasing to see growth in international student enrolments in Australia has resumed.”

Minister Cash said an improved approach to the administration of student visas as part of the SSVF will have clear benefits. The overall integrity of the student visa programme will be maintained, and the improved regulatory arrangements will avoid placing unnecessary burden or cost on education providers.

The SSVF will replace both the Streamlined Visa Processing (SVP) arrangements and the current Assessment Level Framework and will apply to all international students.

It will lay out a student’s financial and English language evidentiary requirements based on two things: the immigration profile of the student’s country of citizenship and of their education provider.

“The SSVF will support the growth of the international education sector by enhancing both competitiveness and integrity while extending streamlined processing to all education sectors and all course types,” Minister Cash said.

She said the changes follow consultations on the Government discussion paper Future Directions for Streamlined Visa Processing.

“SVP served a very good purpose but it is now time to implement a broader, simpler, fairer framework,” Minister Cash said.

A working group with international education sector stakeholders is being formed to guide implementation of the new framework on the expiry of SVP arrangements on 30 June 2016.

The agencies responsible for the quality assurance and regulation of education services for overseas students will work closely with the Department of Immigration and Border Protection on the new regime.

Minister Pyne said the SSVF would contribute to the objectives of the Draft National Strategy for International Education released for consultation in April and the subject of a roundtable on international education this week.

I also received an email to that effect. Incidentally, this week also makes it the 13th week since I submitted. Please, how long does it usually take to get an outcome after this notification or do I have to wait much further?

Anyways, I did mine when it was stil hardcopy,I made my payment 10 Dec 2014, my assessment letter which I finally got on 4 of april 2015 was dated 5 march. That's 5days less than 3months

Mine was online. I actually paid on March 26th, making the 'incoming' week the 13th, sorry. The current turnaround time is 13weeks, so I'm rather surprised they are just commencing the assessment.

I contacted EA recently asking how long assessment takes n they told me accredited qualifications takes 11 weeks,non-accredited takes 13 weeks n this is usually d minimum n depends on the number of qualifications they're assessing at that time. so bro the only thing u can do is wait. don't worry when it comes out u will be able to apply for ur visa early in the financial year due to start in 11days.

Food stuffs not check.. Just zip open and close.

If u ar coming to sydney get an Opal card at d sydney airport to enter trains. Very easy and convinient.
