Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has agreed
personal terms with UAE side Al Ain,
reports African Football.
The Nigeria international had travelled to Dubai to
hold talks with Al Ain this week, and the two
parties have now reached an agreement. The club
now need to reach a deal with Chelsea in order to
secure Mikel’s signature.
Speaking to AfricanFootball.com, Mikel’s agent
Babawo Mohammed said: “Mikel has
agreed personal terms with Al Ain and it is now
left for Chelsea and the Dubai club to agree on
a transfer fee.
“He has returned to England to communicate all
these to Chelsea.
“We just have to wait and see what Chelsea say
in this regard.”
Mikel still has a year to run on his contract at
Stamford Bridge, but he was on the fringes of
Jose Mourinho’s squad last season.

But Asamoah Gyan has been there for close to 3 years now and still performing for the Black Stars. Mikel is making the move primarily to save his Eagles career. The argument about greed is not sound, he has been on well over $100,000 per week at least for the last 5 years. He hung around the UK to get his British passport. He now wants a team where he can express himself. Like Asamoah, he will be able to revive his career. Remember that Asamoah too was struggling in Sunderland about 4 seasons ago till he made the move to Al Ain.
Please guys lets cut this guy some slack, love him or hate him Mikel is one of the very best and consistent performers we have in Super Eagles at the moment.

MIKEL IS A FREE AGENT BY THE END OF THE SEASON SO THERE IS NO DEAL BETWEEN THE TWO CLUBS.
