In order to stop the theft, a contract, he said, was awarded to an Israeli company to lift crude oil from Escravos to the Warri refinery in February 2011 under a Proof of Concept Agreement, but it was unable to meet the terms of the contract.Source |

Even the storage facilities at the refineies were leased out to Government cronies hence no need to produce if one cannot store refined products. |

The probe on NNPC has not even been commissioned yet and they are squealing already! Its amazing how the operations of NNPC that had always been shrouded in secrecy is being openly and generously shared with the media. NNPC seems to be over-willing to talk to the press and release info after operating like a secret cult for years. Note that the combined capacity of our refineries happens to be 445,000 barrels per day. Together with other by-products, we can get up to 50mil litre per day for local consumption. If our refineries work at full capacity, we will turn out 50mil litres per day, use 40mil litres for local consumption and still have surplus 10mil litres to export. So when president Buhari said he doesn't understand the concept of 'subsidy' he knows exactly what he is saying. NNPC knows this and that's why they are now willing to do the right thing. It would have been business as usual if GEJ had won. They would have continued their unending promises of fixing the refineries to no end. I keep saying, subsidy was and still remains a scam. |

Buhari should do quick and institute a probe into the affairs of the operations of Nigerians oil industry in the past six years. If it is true that the refineries are in great shape and we were still spending huge resources to import refined products, then, all those responsible for this scam should be made to face the music. We can't have functional refineries that can meet local consumption and someone somewhere will starve the refineries of crude oil simply for selfish reasons. |

seunmsg:^^^This is one reason why some of us went out on limb, time and again, to draw attention to Jonathan's putrid air. I have no regrets for playing my infinitesimally small role, in the struggle to dislodge a morally bankrupt administration. |

This is unbelievable!!! I urge all and sundry to allow our dear President to guide this nation to the right path and begin the process of returning some semblance of normalcy to the nation. This story ought to leave one, more than speechless. A part of me wants the perpetrators of these atrocities jailed right away, while the other wants the threat of imprisonment to be rained on them, so that they will start coughing up billions of dollars in stolen and hidden funds belonging to Nigerians. May God punish every single one of these rogues. ![]() FP Please |

i must read before i comment. Last Bullet After reading, here's my comment: Alison Madueke should be * Jailed for 4 years with 1 square meal per day * Released & put in house detention for 3 years * All her properties acquired within 2011 - 2014 should be taken & sold by the govt to finance Nigeria. * Dazz all! |
