This is a good move, it is not funny.

There can rear the goats and sell the products. With good management, they can be self sufficient and comfortable.

There are various means to empower people and this is just one of them.

This is not a nice move. What is the government trying to achieve - eradicate poverty or increase the abundance of meat. Review the objective first, then critique the move. I feel it is a money laundering scheme or a get rich quick scheme for a government official. If the governor wants to eradicate poverty from the lives of the widow, it is not by giving them goat.

Please we have #7 trillion naira deficit - every move now counts to get us productivity and not consumerism.

For these widows, this goat might be a life saver. In a short period of time, they would have a flock that they can sell to feed their children.

If it were His wife that came up with this idea, I won't be this shocked...But guess wat? ITs d Governor! Chai! This is ridiculous and clueless to say d least, what kind of useless empowerment is this for Christ's sake? Does he know the life cycle of a goat? Even if the she-goat would give birth twice in a year, when would their babies grow into adulthood before they can be put up 4 sale, since datz d whole essence of d said 'empowerment'? This can be likened to 'Stomach Infrastructure' because I know for sure that over 90% of the beneficiaries would consume the goats before d year runs out either directly or indirectly! From which purse would they feed the goats 4 over a period of 2yrs? They can barely feed and you want dem to keep spending on goats? Damn! THIS MAN NEEDS SOME COMMON SENSE mehn!
