You guys ain't totally wrong mehn!
I left Enugu in 2006. . . .i still visit almost every other month to see my parents. The last rent we paid in Achara Layout in 2010 was N240k for a 3 bedroom flat. I knew New Heaven was going for around N260k - N280k around then. Independence Layout, were my uncle lived in a stand alone compound (bungalow) was N400k. But men, N1m in a space of 5 years?

Massive mehn!!!

In 2006, $1 dollar= N120 naira
In 2015, $1 dollar= N205 naira.

Go figure where the devaluation happened. The one hundred naira value in Ogbete today, could be N15 naira value of goods in 2006.

The clueless dullard is confused. He claims he doesn't have enough foreign exchange to develop Nigeria, but will waste the little remaining on importation of furniture , mattress and toothpicks.

Na dem sabi. Most of their economic actions are targeted on ruining local factories they feel are in the hands of their enemies. That is why I always wonder why Nigeria has one of the most expensive beef price in the world, but they will never authorize beef importation to bring price of local beef down. Because Fulanis control that business.

Hmmmm do you think it is profitable to do so, especially where the cows will be kept in one location because our people may not have time to move about.

You are right. It won't be profitable to do so if we reared them walking from state to state like Fulanis do. We must do it the modern way in ranches like the Zimbabwe farmers in Kwara introduced. The fact that our native cows produce very little milk is also a challenge to those that will like to set up ice cream or yogurt factories using the milk.
I think it'll be tough making decent profit using the present specie of cows we have in Nigeria. Perhaps that is part of the reason beef is so expensive in Nigeria.

I have been making a of lot internet research on agriculture generally and I find out that growing food is easy and we are to be blamed for depending on Hausa/Fulani people for our foods. People normally argue that we do not have enough land for mechanized farming but the argument does not hold water considering that in the present day, food can be grown all year round, even in dark enclosures. What we need in south east is precision farming. If only our governors will take farming seriously, the issue of Fulani cattle herders slaughtering innocent people in their farms will be a thing of the past.

If one wants to rear cattle, it does not requires wandering about like the Fulanis do and it does not necessarily have to be a full time job. In fact all around the world, commercial cattle rearing is done in enclosures. You can even grow grass within 4-6 days in your room to feed the cattle. With the farming techniques and technologies available today, our people should not be hungry.

I was informed by a close friend working at NCAA that top Yorubas at NAMA and NCAA have hatched a plan to force Buhari to close the Enugu airport from International traffic. They have already frustrated any airlines willing to fly into Enugu and have since stopped funding the new terminal building.

I just thought i should make this plot open so that we can devise how to start street protests and other ways of responding to this when the time finally comes.

Yes.
I will still commend Sullivan for planting some on some new roads at independence layout. But it is grossly insufficient to plant in one or two major streets .
We need someone that understands the magical effect of trees on the health of the citizens and aesthetic appeal of the city to embark on a true city wide tree planting campaign on every major road or minor streets. Even the flowers and trees in the parking lot of Shoprite render has been quietly abandoned. Imagine if the parking lot of the mall looks like a conducive park if we planted all those trees designed to be there.
Imagine for instance how magically transformed Chime avenue will look if we massively lined the median with palm or pine trees. It will look exactly with great tropical paradises in Bahamas.

^^^The permanent secretary in the ministry of aviation visited airports about two weeks ago to check on the on-going works at the new terminals! I noticed she visited the ones being built in Lagos, Port Harcourt, Abuja and Kano.....and guess what; she left out the one being built at AIIA Enugu! At the time i wondered why, but it's all making sense now!

I warned you naive guys about two years or so ago that if per-chance GEJ is not re-elected and the subsequent president (or minister of aviation) is from either of two places (one in the north and the other in the south).....that if this were to happen that our collective aviation goose in the South East would be well and truly cooked!

Let them do no such thing. If they try it, it will increase the call for separation even the more. The biafra thing will just increase. The airport is so convenient for us. Once used it and am happy the less stress and less finance. That is why this Chidioka performed below expectation. He should have completed all the airport before leaving not only the Enugu one. But we can use the media to spoil such plans.

Ibiono LGA has a thick rainforest that is kept very wet by constant rainfall and the cross river that's just a few miles away. If you look due north at the picture you will notice the thick green palm vegetation which is characteristic of the area. Yes it has a lot to do with the climate and soil type, But grasses can grow anywhere if watered and tended to.

Achara layout, Enugu.

A flat of 2 bedrooms will rent for N250,000 while a flat of 3 bedrooms in this location goes for N300,000 or a little more.
