, I hurt for Naija! But the problem goes deep into the fabric of our society. I read and hope it is true that president Buhari ordered the military check points decommissioned and soldiers back to their barracks if so thank God. All over the world, soldiers only have a presence in the community in an emergency and when ordered either by the president or governor or in times of war. I believe that they have got to see themselves and their value to Nigeria in a better light to make sense of their roles and the people's expectations of them. We can talk till we are blue in the face about corruption, if the soldiers don't get a salary when due, the government is essentially opening the door to corrupt practices for them. This undesired situation is further encouraged when the periods of no salary is lengthy. Think for a moment, how do we expect them to pay their bills, care for their families, and so forth. There always are bad apples in every bunch, we must however, weed them out and preserve the rest.

Who gave the soldiers information about the informants? Same yeye police.

This is really pathetic,he dead protecting others....he should be immortalisêd in that state..RIP.

Naija, na wa ooo. I don't think this case need further investigation, since there seems to be quite a lot of facts already to nail these guys who're supposed to protect and man the nation's property but instead they chose to terrorise and intimidate the citizenry and steal from their hard earned income. And to worsen it, even killing an innocent and law-abiding citizen unjustly without remorse.

I pray the president would look into this, and ensure that the animals in military clothing who'd perpetrated this heinous act be brought to book.

I think the rate of extra-judicial killing is on the high side in Nigeria lately, I pray a new law would be enacted, to make sure an instant judgement is passed unto whoever is caught in this inhumane act of wickedness and horror. By instant judgement, I mean, an eye for an eye. No need for a prolonged judicial process that would drag for months if not years before such case is given necessary attentions; many of which had ended up being swept under the carpet of injustice while the citizens get no justice as a result of slow wheel of justice in Nigeria and bastardized political power.

How I wish, those community members were able to catch up with them (to give them instant judgement they so desire and merited). That way, the story would have been a perfect one 50/50.
