Alhamdulilah. This could also be helpful to those who missed sahur had to make lil research concerning that. Having an intention to fast is very important in Fard fasts i.e. in the month of Ramadan, so since you did not make any intention that night before, even if you had missed suhoor, you couldn't have kept the fast. So for next time, remember that our intention has be made the night before for the next day fast. Or the correct way is to make intention at the start of Ramadan, and say Allah i intent to fast for the whole month of Ramadan. That way you make your intention just once but it is for all 29 or 30(depending on moon) days of fast. And that way if you miss suhoor, even than you can fast. Like when you wake up, you do not eat or drink anything and continue to fast. Hope this helps. Salam Aleykum 2 Likes 1 Share |

Is travelling on a flight of 2 or 3 hrs to another country enough to break fast? Does one have to fast if dawn meets one at home, but he has a pre-determined journey to make? |

jcross19:@jcross19, Almighty Allah told us that He doesn't intend hardship for us. (Q2:185). So the essence of fasting in Islam is not to experience hardship but to attain Taqwa (Allah's consciousness). 2 Likes 1 Share |

brothers n sisters, please don't join issues with anybody that says your fast is mild n not harsh. when you observe solat 5 times a day, they will say why are you STRESSING yourself? but when you fast Ramadan different from their's, they will say you are not fasting but skipping lunch. Qur'an have said it all, that they will NEVER like your ways...Lakun dinukum waliyedin 8 Likes 2 Shares |

Nice one op, but what caught my attention was about the illness part. For the past four days i'm suffering from severe fever. chronic fever though, my body could burn up for 7hrs plus non-stop during the day, this made my fasting uneasy. I was tempted twice to break my fast so i could use drugs but i continued.. My question is, assuming my body flares up again while in the middle of fasting, can i break my fast? Because the fever is so unbearable sometimes.. |

Foodconsumer:Extreme health conditions are part of the permissible reasons which allows you to break your fast during the day. You would know your body better than anyone one, so, if you get to a stage where you feel is uncomfortable to continue your fast, then, there's no harm on you if you break it; and make up for it another day. And Allaah knows best! May Allaah grant you shifaa... |
Re: Permissible Excuses For Breaking The Fast by PMB007: 3:02pm On Jun 26, 2015 |
qbd2:I can relate to that condition, dear sis. There are some European countries where the sun does not set till very late in the night, thereby extending the period of fasting to longer hours (some as long as 22hrs). If you reside in any such country as a Muslim (with the obligation to fast in the month of Ramadan), you would endeavour to keep fasting in patience, knowing that your reward is with your Lord. However, if on any day, it becomes apparent that continuing your fast will become harmful to your health or body, then there will be no sin on you to break your fast with the intention of making up for it on another day. And Allaah knows best! May Allaah ease all our ways and set right our affairs. 1 Like |
