Most of the people ranting don't know the meaning of helipad

A helicopter landing pad (helipad) is a landing area or platform for helicopters. While helicopters are able to operate on a variety of relatively flat surfaces, a fabricated helipad provides a clearly marked hard surface away from obstacles where a helicopter can land safely.

Cost less than 5 million naira, compare it to cost of fuelling SUVs from Katsina to Daura in four years
But you forget the cost of fueling the and maintaining the helicopter for four years. I am not against the president building a helipad in his home town but apc should learn to deal with it, they are the ones who set Nigerians on the part of accusing the office of the president at every turn be it good or bad, now pdp is returning the ministry. I am against insulting the office of the president when gej was in power and I stand for it today

Helipad home: former NUJ president challenges David Mark to debate

Former national president of Nigerian Union of Journalists, Comrade Lanre Ogundipe has shared a photo of Senate president David Mark’s home in Benue state.

The photo below which Lanre shared on his facebook page, has been described as the country home of David Mark and it has got it’s own landing space for helicopters (helipad).

So why did TANoids not condemn their PDP Senate President for building a customized Helipad with our scarce resources? Hypocrites.

But David Mark and PDP didn't make noise abt fighting corruption nah! David Mark neva instructed his security aides to obey trafic but Buhari did. And David Mark neva said he's not corrupt, but Buhari did. David neva claim "holy than thou" but Buhari is d holy 1 here.
Moral; talk less and do more!

This thread now is it to counter people saying Buhari shouldn't build helipad? No, let him build helipad all over the world while his party is on fire and there's no government structure on ground. At least he's not confused about helipad, though confused about making necessary appointments in the country. He has set his priorities according to importance and unfortunately helipad is the most important and also most urgent.

Don't know your own definition of opposition but am sure praise singing or ass licking the present administration is definitely not one of them. They're doing their job as an opposition very well as far as am concerned. It's left for the APC to get their acts right and do their job well.

Nice comparisom to fueling SUVS. Will the helicopter be power with water? Well its okay. Since APC Tanoids has adopted the life style of past pdp leaders as a measurable standard of behaviour and quick to dig out reference in defence of a condemable action. Its all gud, its still a change in strategy. Part of the CHANGE they all voted for

Bro the SUVs must still be fueled The standard security protocol must stand, advanced Team, bodyguards, SAs,Medical must always be on ground around him,in case there is need for evacuation.
Also Quarters will still have to built to house security details, et al, generators e.t.c.
What of the landing safety systems in case?
Presidential system of government is expensive

To everybody quoting me wrongly, I didn't say they won't fuel helicopter, what I am saying is the cost to build a helipad is reduced compared to the cost of fueling SUVs (jeeps) that will carry him from Katsina, the state capital that has airport to his hometown in Daura. In both cases, fueling of helicopter is compulsory.

How many times would we discuss this on frontpage? Anyways, with such edifice, how would David Mark know there are bad roads in his village that need to be fixed when de doesnt use them? How would he and his family even be caught if civil war starts in the country now? Once any rumour of civil war is heard, piam, he and his family don take off with the helicopter to Ghana or South Africa first. Na only the poor go come remain now to face the consequences.

The presidential fleet already has helicopters which have pilots. It's not like the man is going to buy a new helicopter and all that. I like the zeal people now have to try and checkmate public office holders on spending. It's just that on this one, a lot of people seem not to know (or want to know) what a helipad is. Some think it's an airport. E no cost like that bros.

Useless TANoids filled with hatred for PMB. If it's Jonathan they'll say he's advancing with the world but they had to use flimsy excuses just to attack PMB as usual. If even PMB used his cash, same TANoids will ask where he got it from.

Thanks for the info. It is a good thing that Nigerians are beginning to question government spending. All we want is cost effective measures of spending public funds.

I get you point but the question now is is it every other day that Mr. President will go to his house and thus fuel every now and then his convoy for his trip to daura. I don't see how fuelling a car is more expensive than building an helipad. An helipad requires maintenance no matter what even if it a cemented floor with letter H at the center.there have to be lights to indicate it at night. It needs someone to ensure its a safe landing all the time and thing like that and that isn't free. All at a cost. Pilot driving the copter, helicopter maintenance and all...

so again my question, what makes an helipad cheap?
