What are these schools even teaching? Rubbish. I will be playing a devil advocate here because I don't see anything in those schools again...

When the context of the student is different from the contents the lecturers are trying to poured inside, there will be conflict.

Our school curriculum is not helping at all at all...

Back in my days in Uniport it was not just rusticated students.
We had students who came to seek admission and never went back home. They never left the campus. Some come in through the Basic (Pre-Degree) Program and when they do not pass into the first year they refuse to go home either.

In all cases there is a high likelihood that they have decieved their parents, claiming to have been admitted when they are not.

We call them perpetual students. You see them as the Agbero of Student Unionism. They claim to be 'king makers', formenting troubles and cheap blackmails on campuses. They know the names and history of anything on campuses. They are empty vessels, their noise is deaftening and they usually promote vices and praise cult activities. They ensure that debates do not hold on Manifesto night. They are usually the cats with nine lives, in trouble they don't get hurt or caught. They roam about and enjoy freebies and arrassing sociable students. They usually pitch their tent in the hostels, looting and stealing from hostelites and taking their loots off-K. They are usually unpredictable, they belong to everybody and they belong to nobody, their mood swings to favour their crooked ways. They usually claims to know every lecturers and proffer to help lazy students with failing grades. They sweet talk and swindled female students off their cash. They usually have the credentials of most lazy students, claiming to be a conduit to the admission office. The lists are endless... Chronicles of the perpetual students. (Non-academic Students)

I was once one of them, though I had a reason for mine. I was looking for admission in the said university then, almost all my friends I used to hang out with were doing diplomas then, since I was not interested in going for a diploma and I could not be staying at home all by myself, I decided to be going to the school everyday to hang out wit my friends while they received lectures and also use the opportunity to carryout my admission 'runs'. After doing that for 2yrs, and no admission, I threw away my pride and left for a polytechnic, got my ND, applied to the same university through DE and got admitted instantly. The rest is history. I presently have an M.Sc from that same university. Hoping to start a P.hd soon.

For me I think the best way to curb this
is;

The said institution should publish the name(s) and
information as well as the picture(s) of the expelled
or rusticated student(s) on the school's website.

The picture(s) and informations of the said student(s)
should be posted on every department's notice boards
and every other place within the school premises.

Lastly the security personnels of the institution are also
supposed to be on the look out for such student(s) within
the school premises.
In addition, the school can also devise ingenious ways of getting information like Results, Student Status, e.t.c DIRECTLY TO PARENTS through their phone numbers or Email.

Such "students" are littered across ALL universities in Nigeria especially in the public educational institutions. I knew some of them when I was at the UniPort.
