My worry is about Data Protection. FRSC= Biometric, NIN= Biometric, Financial Institution=Biometric. What happens should your data get into unknown hands. We know many things could happen with your data in the hands of these criminals.

Bvn is a continuous process.... U can't deny people of their legit right.

The registration process is harsh, u get to a bank that is serving about 3million customers and you will find only one bvn agent. And these people believe they can hit the target? Jokers

I will empty my account today....... It's better than beg anyone for my sweat undecided

I wouldn't blame the Banks

Honestly I was so embarrassed this morning, seeing lots of people (especially Youths angry) ) on queue outside the gates of various banks, just around 5:30AM in the morning. It was massive.

What's wrong with us in Naija? People doing as if the announcement was made just last week. Choooiiii.

Honestly I wouldn't blame the banks. Bankers ain't robots. undecided
Exactly.

I did my BVM in may. Was even worried that I had put it off for so long....and on the day....it was just me and one other guy.

Lock the accounts instanta until they provide their BVN.

Say NO to fraud.

Re: Banks May Deny 14.6 Million Customers Services By Wednesday by Ayo25: 9:52am On Jun 29, 2015
The banks can never win on this one. There are those people who would actually want to dare the banks and deliberately not bother to register, and in all honesty there is nothing the banks can do to peoples money just because they have no BVN. If there was several extensions on a small matter like sim card registration, how much more on issue of money or who does not know that 'money mata na serious mata o'. Again just watch how some people who have not been able to register embark on mass withdrawal from their accounts. Do not think the banks can win on this one.

please have not done mine. is it compulsory I do it in my bank?, I use Gtbank and the silly bank is far from where I reside
You can walk into any bank to get your biometric registration done, just ensure you have any of your account number with you... after which you go to your bank to link the BVN to your account.

My take, I think it's just a way to ensure people compile with the registration, if there's no deadline attached to it, people will be lackadaisical about it. But I think it will be postponed since it's suppose to be a continuous process... the importance attached to this is topmost compared to SIM registration.

Please they should not extend it o!...make Nigerians use this one learn! angry...since February last year, banks were literally begging people to come and do it.... I once witnessed how a customer embarrassed a bank official cos she was begging him to come and do his BVN.. forming "I dont have time for this rubbish "..I'm sure the tables have turned!

Ahahah. Na by force to get BVN ni. I will withdraw all my money before the deadline. Later several banks will come back begging me to open an account with them like they use to do. Some of you do not know the banks are in a very weak position. Those people queing up in banks do know the power they have.

really appreciate ur thinking, but let's look @it from the perspective of time constraints, health problems that restraint some people some are still on sick bed for 9months ago, registration problem on the part of the bank after finding time to go register.
I believe it should be extended for BTW 3 months to DEC 31st.remember the voters card issue?God bless

Banks insists you must have account with them before they attend to you. That's the main problem.

I tell you.

I did mine in February. Went to First Bank and GTB and discovered that I couldn't withstand the queue. Luckily, I bank with Keystone too, so I went there the next day, and within 15 minutes I had the registration done. I completed my linking with other banks in May.

As in, Nigerians will never cease to amaze me.

Why cant they do this shit online with all the money CBN make? I dont think it will cost a fortunate to come up with best way of doing it online. If I remember correctly all mobile lines are registered. CBN should have teamed with telecom providers and the agency in charge of issuance of national id. The use of online portal will ensure that more people get their bvn without going to the banks.
if it can be done online, then the aim has been forfeited because the real identity can be faked, besides, you will need a very good HD camera and finger print scanner, tell me how individuals or a cafe can afford that
