Hello house, we expect more good news this week...
I came across something captivating in my Course description and I felt like sharing and need contributions. the course is in collaboration with over 30 universities including US, UK, Canada, Australia, Canada etc. I have the option of completing up to 50% of Credit point in any of these universities (2 semesters).
From my little research, I may not be able to work as exchange student in Canada but I'm permitted to work in US.
what do you think about this course offer? is it a good one? I understand there is no much restriction to all these countries with a German resident permit...
what do you think about the expenses (from your perspective) except travelling fare.
Please, I need your humble opinion and advice... Thanks

bros if u ask me, since it is an option, and not by force, I'd advise you to grab the offer with both hands and legs. You could choose to go to these countries you have mentioned or also choose to stay back (if you have a very stable student job or those holiday student jobs that pay like 1kEUR monthly). In the end, if na money you dey find, you might end up staying back in Germany to complete your course because the stress of quickly integrating and getting a good student job in these places you have mentioned doesn't come into play. If however, going to these countries will offer you money via paid internships or if you have money to flex and want to tour round the globe, then you might end up completing the course outside of Germany.
As long as it is not by force, Bros you are GOOD TO GO!!!

Thanks bro for your input. i appreciate...the school in question is in east Germany (Freiberg, Saxony). considering the job prospect in that part of Germany, though there are job opportunities, research assistance, internship etc.
I will do the first semester in Germany and see if I can get a good pay job, if not.. US dey my mind lol...I love touring. more input pls

Good evening all. I have been silently following this thread (from the part 1) for months now and wish to thank you all for all the assistance unknowingly rendered to me. I very recently got accepted into FH-Kiel (Information Engineering) and University of Passau (Computer Science), while I still await a response from University of Stuttgart. I just opened this account to appreciate you all; but unfortunately, I have 2 issues that I couldn't find anywhere it has already been tackled so I just have to ask here:

1. From research, it seems Universities oAS are somewhat discriminated against compared to traditional universities. But kiel seems to be a nice city and the Information Engineering (formerly Information Technology) program seems to be fairly decent. And University of Passau seems to have a very good Computer Science department; with the possibility of an exchange semester abroad, But I can't seem to get information on the town/city of Passau except that it is in Eastern Bavaria. Please what program will you kind people advise me to accept with respect to the quality of the universities and job prospects post-graduation vis-a-vis hustling opportunities and student jobs?

2. The above question is on the premise that I do not get accepted by Stuttgart as that is my number1 priority school/program.
But it won't be until late July/early August before I get a response from them - positive or negative, so I'd wish to proceed with any of the other schools, regardless, because time is of the essence. I've seen many people here say it's possible to process your visa till the end to a particular school and change the school - even to a different state - afterwards even when the visa has been issued. Nobody has really talked about the procedure to do such. I'd really appreciate it if this can also be treated.

Once again, thanks to the great elders of this thread, the mod(s) as well as the seasonal and sparing advisers/hint givers on this thread. May the best of your todays be the worst of your tomorrows.

Eke40seven:

Okay...I knew and made some enquiries about the place because a very close friend of mine applied for the aforementioned course in my last post, although it didn't turn out well because of the stiff competition and restrictions.
Furtwagen, is just 15-20 mins away from Freiburg, a known city/District in Baden Württemberg. The Furtwagen itself is not the largest of places, just one of those small cool cities in the black forest. Note, Freiburg is just 20-30 minutes apart from France and Switzerland. Though Furtwagen is closer to France. The place is cool. Its not a poly, in fact for courses like the one you chose, its an added advantage because of the practical orientation.
The next exam will be around July 20 something...but as I heard, its for family reunion.

However, someone brought to my notice and I confirmed also that there will be a 4 week intensive A1 programme during the summer break at Goethe. I have not confirmed the price yet. I will when I get there. I think the class will hold everyday in the month of August. So after the intensive class, you would have obtained an A1 certificate and know some little German before you depart. I will bring thorough details later.

Just throw all the questions you have on the Goethe registration and other related matters, I will make the enquiries there along that line.

I hope I did justice to your questions?

Good luck!
U did more. Thanks a lot. Would have love to attend that intensive A1 class, but. Based in PH. I also was infromed dat I have to register by hand I mean cash at hand. Can't I pay into the goethe account? I read u have an online material, lemme know how to get it

Good evening everyone, am so happy reading people response to questions here, God will surely bless your efforts. Please I have few questions to ask as regards to my search on german universities.

1. Can someone with HND do his masters degree in any german university directly because some school I made research on says Bsc or equivalent.

2. If NO to the above question, which year will I start from, for a Bsc or will I have to start afresh?

3. I have made research on the following schools, any idea on how the schools might be in terms of admission, tuition, life in the environment and other things.

a.) Fachhochschule köln
Colgne university of applied science (Masters in mechatronics)

b.) FH-Aachen university of applied science. (Masters in mechatronics)

c.) Hamburg university of technology. (Masters in mechatronics)

4. What documents will they be needing from my sponsor.

5. How do start preparing/applying for it as against January (winter) with HND.

Thanks, I will be very happy if I get a reliable answers in details. God bless.

Bros,

this is my little and candid advise

No University will grant you admission for Msc with HND. Your HND is as good as a University entrance qualification in Germany. am so sorry bro but at this point, you have to take away the fantasies and face the real music.

Start bracing up for next summer Bachelors application which will start from September. apply for ielts, gather your transcript, search for schools and differentiate the ones with direct application and Uni-assist

register on uni-assist platform and get prepared.

Good luck bro

Yes Sir, you will have to start afresh. but according to research, you may apply for higher semester/credit transfer if you have already attained a similar bachelor program. but your first semester result need to be awesome. This is for Bsc holder applying for another Bsc program, dont know aber HND.

As for your sponsor sir, he needs to make above 1,500 euros monthly after tax or so. Also, he should have a clean record (Good police record, up to date tax payment, e.t.c) and some other solvency checks will be carried out.

what's your discipline in HND?

Thank you very much.
I studied mechanical engineering ( grade; upper credit).

so for now, where should I start from, because September is so close, I guess the earlier I start, the better for me.
Once again, thank you very much.

@kennyogun0509 thank you very much for your contribution.

@ Obiwann: do make we know which one you dey oo. wink

@ TeamKiel: Let's coordinate and assist each other once in the post admission stages because we all can use the assist.

Shoutout to the fellas that has been very selfless in providing all the help they can and even opening communication channels to others without knowing them from Adam. God bless you guys. God knows your house addresses! grin

To the more important point of my post, I got shocking information today from a forum member who came to Lagos to open blocked account as I have been trying to encourage early processing once admission notice is received.

To my shock, he said he was at the consulate at 5:30am on Monday and was number #9. Only 5 people was attended to and the others were told to try the next day. His interaction with others revealed that they had been there for a few days without success. He had to get there at 3:30am this morning and still met 4people there at that time! shocked

Luckily, they attended to them all and he has his interview date scheduled accordingly.

Lesson of the day: if you are yet to decide on your mode of sponsorship, please do and get cracking because the consulate is becoming swamped with requests.

All the best to everyone...

the secret?
In descending order
1) High CGPA
2) Good IELTS Score (7 and above); Even if they don't ask for it, include it if you have it. It helps in the screening process
3) Above average motivation letter (For top schools where CGPA is main criterion, Motivation letter na just washy)
4) Prepare your application documents on time and apply early (Some schools perform rolling admission, so they stop admitting immediately they get the required number of students and forward the rest to the next session)
5) Spread your net wide but not too wide (Apply to schools where you know 'bad as e bad, them must give me admission' and not only top schools but make sure the course is related or closely related to your bachelors
6) No reason only Germany. (Checkout Norway, Finland, and others
7) DON'T GIVE UP!!! (My first response from a school in Germany was a rejection mail, and although I was rejected in all the schools I applied to in Saudi Arabia/Qatar, I kept faith knowing that 'na me go tire to choose in the end; How true it has turned out to be).
cool Last and most importantly, you need GOD'S GRACE.

@pompido, I sight u, I go choose after my Interview bros!

Thanks but I was talking about bachelor degree in the first place. I had OND and also Diploma in ship management but i wanted to apply to one hochschule bremen city of applied science for shipping and chattering course, I was clueless about it until someone told me that my diploma is useless as far as the admission is concern ,the guy said i will need to provide internship contract with a shipping company or 6months sea experience or 100L result transcript. I need to wait till next summer to attain their requirement.
