Rivers State House of Assembly has given Governor Nyesom Wike the approval to borrow a loan of N20 billion for the completion of ongoing road projects in the state.

Speaker of the House, Ikunyi Awaji-Igbani after hearing the debate and after taking vote by 29 members during plenary said the approval was not just a mere one but an action that is important to enable the Governor carry out projects in the state.

He said the state Government will borrow loan from the Access Bank PLC and repay through Internally Generated Revenue domicile with the Access Bank.

DAILY POST reports that other members who spoke during the House Sitting urged the House to approve the loan for the Governor to perform his job in order to complete the said projects.

On the average it means Wike collected a billion naira loan every single day he's been in office.

10 Billion+20 Billion=30 Billion in one month.
For one year will be 30*12=#360 Billion
So for 4 years,it will be #360*4 years=#1,440,000,000,000;that's #1.4 trillion.just borrow the loanable.

Abeg even if it's 100 billion ,go ahead & borrow, use it for the state am ok with that. The former Governor said Wike can not develop the state or pay workers as he has emptied the treasury, he should wait & see how it will be done.

I don't see why this is an issue, they have even said how they will repay, Rivers state has the second highest IGR in the country so they can easily afford to repay the loans.
