Nairaland is a great place to assess the level of reasoning of the average EDUCATED Nigerian. They're supposed to be better than the uneducated ones. But what do I see? Very ignorant people. Many people who are knowledgeable have left or are not as active. Everything is about tribe/region/religion. I have said if my family member who I know to be incompetent is to get govt appointment and my opinion is sought, I won't approve. If the whole govt is from one family( not one section or state) I don't care as long as they're assessed to be appropriate for their roles and would make my life better and won't infringe on my rights or cheat me. After Nixon resigned the US Presidency, President Ford gave a speech in which he said "ours is a nation of laws, not of men..." Conversely, Nigeria is a nation of men, not of laws. Look at what difference it makes in our relative lives |

sukkot:Their quietness and their subtle nature is what they will keep using to fool the southerners. I am sure the southerners would be a lot more quiet if they were in their positions. You remind me of those who prefer the quiet Russians to the more upront Americans. The former is very quiet, secretive, more classy in an aristocratic sense but cold hearted and dangerous. |

When you want to take any decision, expecially a major decision, clear your mind of the following; 1. Anger, 2. Anxiety and, 3. Impatience. Or else, you could take a decision you would later regret. http://ayietim. |

eni4real:Fell free to share this revelation with the other ignorant and sexist clown.. But do you think a pharmacist could be the right fit for a sensitive office like this? Why not just answer your own question by telling us what qualified GEJ as a zoologist to be the president of Nigeria or to Administer the lives 170 million people? Was it because we are all zoo animals? Why is a former military man the president of Nigeria? Because we are all in the military? Her qualification as a Pharmacist by trade is more than enough qualification since management and administration is part of her training as a pharmacist. Certificate in Project Management 1998, Certificate in Senior Management from Crown Agents London in 2005 Certificate in Executive Education in Business Management from Harvard Business School. http://www.naij.com/475668-amina-zakari-is-new-inec-chairman.html On top of that, she actually studied management and business management @ the best learning institutions in the world like Harvard so what other qualifications do you think she needs? You people really need to find something better, sane and rational to talk about.. |

blackprowler:U need to think more. Not just look; cos the more u look, the less u see; my brother let nobbody deceive u. Nigerian is not one, it is divided in trbal/ religious / region lines. The lst election made it clear, and our last civil war made it clear. What is joining us is just "OIL". Are u telling me that they are not intelligent, dependable people across the 6 geopolotical zones? My brother don't be deceived. What I told u is real. |

dominique:And you are not one to play the tribal card. Are Northerners not Nigerians? Naira land politics section has become so predictable. All you hear is "dullard, President Buhari, northerners, Buhari, west Germany, $1 to N1, Tinubu, APC, blah blah blah. There was a forum... |

luggy:Sadly for you villagers, tribal appointments wasn't a big deal or something to yell and cry over when GEJ staffed his administration predominantly with ibo and his own people and even labeled that part of Nigeria as the pillar of his administration bah? You hypocritical people need to shut up with your tribal nonsense and fixations.. |

blackprowler:You are seeing things in black and white. Gosh, I would imagine the reason why people are angry was because the northerners wouldn't accept such a thing without throwing an hissyfit. Put it this way, do you think the white British or American people would accept a cabinet dominated by the minorities I.e blacks in usa or Scottish in England? People are still crying for a reduction of Scottish seat in the Westminster parliament... The point is, the total allocated positions are not a reflection of the education and population demographics of the country. Ideally, it shouldn't be a problem but I don't blame people for voicing their concern especially when you know northerners wouldn't accept such a thing. Nigeria is still very tribalistic and going by the history a cabinet dominated by a certain tribe tends to get an unfair advantage. You don't need to look far to know this holds true for the northerners. Please come back in the real world and stop seeing things in black and white. Whatever qualifications you have in the north, I am sure you can find three times equally qualified personnel in the southern region. |

Buhari is allegedly super fast at making all types of trival appointments, but cannot appoint a single minister that he was expected to do since 30th May 2015. Something is not making sense. If it doesn't make sense, then there is deception going on. Have noticed that we haven't seen the president in a single live public event in Nigeria since his inauguration? Nor his wife or his staunchest loyalists such as Prof Tam David-West and Amaechi. In fact despite hundreds of photos and very short video allegedly showing the president allegedly at various summits there is absolutely no footage of any recorded interviews or even a single exchange of words with a journalist on camera since his inauguration. Of course we know there has been no appearance in public to give a televised press conference. We have also all witnessed the president's failure to attend to inaugurate his own NAss without any credible reason. Not to mention his non appearance at meetings with APC lawmakers. Things are not well in Nigeria, I won't say we most give up hope, but we must prepare for the worst. |
