I repeat, the only thing that matters now is that Sanford is one of the largest employers of labour in Nigeria. Do you think a gainfully employed employee of his cares what else he has done that might be wrong? If the refinery were to be completed, and the ripple effect is lower fuel prices and stable electricity, how many people will care how he got his money in the first place. If he was to pack up and go, many Nigerians will lose, including southerners.
Do you honestly believe that he would take all his money out of Lagos if his region (which he seems to do little for) was expelled from the union?

I broached the issue of how he got his start mainly to show that he is not a visionary of any kind. This is a man who was given exclusive import licenses, any fool could make money selling them.

Lagos is the largest city on the continent.

Nigeria is the biggest economy in Africa.

He needs Nigeria a lot more than Nigeria needs him.

Without government help he would not be able to prosper. That is a fact.

If he stepped aside, another entity would step in. The profits are there to be made.

On June 29, 2015 an Igbo business man, Chijoke Ngwu Ogbodo, a native of Nkanu LGA, Enugu State was gruesomely murdered along with his wife in Katsina by gunmen suspected to be Fulani herds men.

The couple were killed in the presence of their children.

Sources report that the assassins clubbed the couple and butchered them with a machete before shooting them at point blank.

The Igbo community in Katsina have been thrown into deep mourning and fear as a result of the killings. The killing of Ngwo Ogbodo and wife appears one in a series of targeted attacks on the Igbo population in living Katsina.

The bodies of the couple have been removed from their home located along the Katsina Bypass and deposited at the katsina mortuary. Mr Ogbodo is the manufacturer of the popular Sir Benjik Pure Water.

Leaders within the Igbo community have express little confidence in the police ability to fish out the killers. Previous attacks and premeditated killings of the Igbo have gone resolved.

You've never heard of Belgium?

Yugoslavia existed for 70 years before war brought it to an end.

Basque separatists have been agitating for their own country for a long time.

Catalans have been looking for independence from Spain for at least 100 years.

Corsicans have been calling for independence from France for decades.

Scotland has been agitating for independence for centuries.

Bavarians have a separatist movement.

It took the Irish over 700 hundred years before they became an independent nation and even then they lost part of their island to the UK.
your post is out of sync with my post? Anyways, Cornwall as well as many others, has been crying for an independence from England for donkey years, does that mean they would be granted? No, because majority of them are in the minorities. Forget about the past as there are many international constitutions that governs the right to a secession.
Although international law like geneva acts are, in principle, neutral with regard to secession, there are elements associating the unilateral process of State creation with international law. Hence, though there is neither a right nor a denial of secession under international law, each process of secession is associated by certain elements that help depict (if not the legality, at least) the illegality of some cases. However, most of these laws are against a rejection of a call for a secession by the majority of the population. A right to a secession is on a country by country basis and are mostly influenced by the founding constitution. For instance, the union between all the stated in America was as complete, as perpetual, and as indissoluble as the union between the original States. There was no place for reconsideration or revocation, except through revolution or through consent of the states. This isn't the case for Nigeria or countries like United Kingdom. Hence, why Scotland was allowed to have a referendum last year.
Heck, even though the law makes a secession by any states in U.S. absolutely pointless. Yet It took 150000 votes in 2012 for texas to activate their right to a secession, of which was rightly turned down by the federal court.

Bear in mind that it is the majority that counts. In Spain any polls on sovereignty must be held nationally hence why they have been repeatedly shut down by Spanish parliament. Go and check Spanish law, the only way they can trigger the clause is for the majority of the Spanish people to vote in favour of a referendum or call for it. Nigerian law is not as water tight as those countries I have mentioned. This has been said countless times by many people.
The point is there are now many laws that bounds the right to a secession unlike in he past where countries like Russia can just hold countries against their wishes.

There should be a call for the revaluation of the union going forward. I know majority of African countries are regional based rather than parliamentary or federal. So I would imagine this also holds true for Nigeria to an extent. Nigeria doesn't have a solid case against a secession by international standards especially when you factor the things like different tribes, religion, marginalisation etc. Major tribe Yoruba, Igbo or hausa/fulani have he right to demand a referendum.
In conclusion, those posts of yours is irrelevant and doesn't mean a secession is impossible if that was the intention of your post.

Some myopic Biafrans are clinging to ONE Nigeria because of their investments.

This is my phylosohpy:

It is better to loose your investment and reserve your live.

If you preserve your life, you can build another investment.
On the other hand, if you loose your life, you also loose your investment.

Shall I mourn for this couple?
Have we not been pleading with them to come home?

Let me once more use this opportunity to plead with all Biafrans to make plans towards coming home.
You can start by sending down your families.

A stitch in time saves nine.
Well said, some of my people like money than their life, just because of pure water biz and probably other biz,he glued his family in north, not minding all the blood sucking demons overthere, now he has left the biz by force, also exiting the earth with the wife, thereby putting the children in sorrow, a lesson for others, though many Igbos has relocated from the north, the victim should have sell the pure water firm and avoid this calamity, abt Biafra u said it well, imagine seeing a JTF van today at a bank in port Harcourt, all the six soldiers communicating in Hausa language, what a malady, every body in the bank was either hissing or murmuring.r.i.p to the death.

Exactly. When you look at hard fact, southwest doesn't need Nigeria. Southwest contributes far more than they gets to people they are not related or share values with. Beggars believe.

Cornwall is the worst possible example because it is one of the poorest parts of the UK, not just England.

My point is that there are several countries where prosperous regions are tied to less dynamic regions.

You said that such would never happen in Europe which is a patent lie, Europe has several such examples.

Belgium is a prime example, Spain is another. Ask someone who lives in west Germany what they think of the former East Germany; or what a Bavarian thinks about the rest of Germany ;and it will not sound too dissimilar to what a Catalan would say about the rest of Spain; or what a northern Italian thinks about southern Italy.

You told a clear lie that, that common myth spread idiots "only in Nigeria" that people such as yourself like to convince yourself of. The reality is that there is very little that happens "only in Nigeria" but people such as yourself cannot see context, cannot observe what happens outside of your tiny sphere and as a result fail to grasp a sense of perspective.

I have no issue with a law change being proposed but there are other countries where people are bound together with others, seemingly against the will of the people. Don't forget that referendums are about marketing and money and we've just seen how those elements can be used to swayed the masses in Nigeria - you won't always get an honest or the best outcome.

Nigeria does not need to completely disintegrate but constitutional reform is a must. There must be provision in any such arrangement for the union to remove those elements that refuse to tow the line and pull their own weight, as is the case with a number of the northern states.

I used Cornwall because you weren't coherent enough to get your point across. Lol it clearly shows you don't know what you are talking about. The context is lost on you. Tell me any country that generates up to 90% of the country's income that is still being held against their wish? You are mentioning the balvaria and Catalonians ducking hell. I am done talking.
If you want to learn more about Europe just talk and stop showing your ignorance or quoting my words out of context.

Whenever hausas kill people, all we hear is "fulani herdsmen". What business is there between a herdsman and a businessman? Anybody living in the north should sleep with one eye closed. Those people have violence and senseless killings embedded in their DNA.
fulani herdsmen kill over shameless things, fulani people kill farmers because the farmers refuse to let them(fulani) take away the farm produce...they do that a lot in benue and lokoja,i dont know what to do,am just scared for subsistence farmers because they suffer the most..honestly i am very sure BH is full of fulani people, all they do is kill and kill without even knowing why they are killing, the only education they ever got is what their leader tells them..so sad
