Force alone cannot solve the problem. The negotiation is necessary.

Do you know what they are fighting for?

It can still be talked over. Who knows if the beasts can reconsider and change their minds. But what is certain is that weapons CANNOT stop the killings by Boko Haram.

I try to tell myself the above too, but what are BH or ISWAP fighting for?

At this point, I don't know, do you?

Right now, nobody knows what those terrorists are fighting for/against; but this may be a good time to find out. The knowledge is key to ending their scourge once & for all, whether by dialogue, negotiations or brute force.

Anybody that says Boko Haram should be given amnesty is worst than Obama nd Zuma. Combined. If you can give a killer amnesty, what will you do for people who have suffered from the heinous act of these insurgents. (give them first class sit for paradise) or how do you want to even start to heal and relieve the hardship those over 200 chibok girls went through. Even you when e no affect but for the tension when e put you through you need watin pass amnesty.

Even the victims know better that negotiating with BH terrorists is foolhardy. The govt should lol at the strategy that the previous gov't used to record some success towards the end of their administration and continue with it; scale it up wherever necessary!

Negetioting with boko haram is not weakness.

Keeping every soul alive must be important to government, crushing boko haram totally is not as easy as that. Even if there is just remnant of the group members remains they can still cause great damage.

I beg ur pardon oga, if u think the US has not wonany war on terrorism, do they go on to negotiate?. Have ever seen US negotiate time immemorial. If u are conversant with BH news the last time pple suggested to GEJ for negotiation, they (BH) immediately rejected negotiation if the govt is planning that. So bro, its should be fire for fire just as other neighbours are doing.

Like you said, it never ends and of the two evils-negotiation or military confrontation- the latter is the lesser because negotiation smacks of weakness, there can be no trust and the blackmail will never end especially when there is no legitimate reason for the criminal insurgency they have engaged in. Besides, at this time u can be sure that there is no one leader. While the govt engages in supposed talks with one group, others continue bombing and maiming civilians and to what end? Establishment of an islamic caliphate?

The government should not make a criminal about-face now to negotiate. They should be able to and in fact ought to identify and neutralize or severely limit the criminal elements involved from sponsors to the foot soldiers. That is what funds and technology are for. GMB and APC claimed to be all out against corruption so they should do it already and stop pvssy-footing around core issues. Negotiating with criminals such as these is the height of corruption and Nigeria cannot expect to be taken seriously if such is even considered or carried out!

It seems you arent aware that International terrorist groups like B.H DO NOT negotiate with countries they deem 'Infidel Nations'!

How do you talk over nothing. They'r killing everything and everybody regardless.

How do you negotiate with such people?

What do you do when they make unreasonable demands?

Then they will surely ask for money -- setting a precedence. Do you give them? Like they earned it? So they can refill . . .

As far as I am concerned, killing them till extinction fully backed up in tandem with religious and secular education of their apologists/sympathizers is the only way to go.

You negotiate with them for bread and butter today, tomorrow they'd start again -- demanding milk, sugar and 'Bournvita'.

Meanwhile, do you know officially, what BH (now an extension of ISIS) wants is to establish an Islamic state in Nigeria and the introduction of Sharia law into all of Nigeria?

Not to mention over time, they've had a very conveniently fluid list of wants, ideals/non ideals.

Oga PMB, I hope say you no deaf.....Before you start showing confusion saying that your village people are winning the war.

The days of campaign are over, this is no film trick, you are live in power. What we want is CHANGE, PERFORMANCE rather than the unecessary witch-hunting we are hearing of late.

l must confess things are getting worse in this administration
Buhari seriously need to put things in order as soon as possible as he promised during campaign and he should also know that there was no where patient was mentioned all through out his campaign therefore this issue be patient is getting out of hand
for the issue of negotiation l thought BH are faceless or are they going to negotiate spiritually ? anyway anyhow they wants to do it it is not a good idea

It's a pit that even people who live in village farm settlements are more knowledgeable in dealing with this sort of security issue than our general(bubu).

Wonder the basis on which the FG intends to negotiate with these murderers;grant them amnesty for killing innocent Nigerians after the negotiation?... And what would the FG say/do to those who lost their loved to these insurgents?.they get an "eyahh" abi.

I like "people with Brains", people who seek guidance from history.
But, history has taught us that " the best time to negotiate is when you have the upper hand.
The government, if they want to defeat BH completely, must first dealt them bad and, give them no hope of winning the war then, offer a hand of negotiation.
That will make B.H be serious about the government initiative and won't make outrageous and crazy demands.
- ART OF WAR.
