Don't worry. Your lecturers from school cannot control your GRE score, so if you believe you are 1st class or high 2:1 material, you should ace that with nothing less than 320. If you do that, you'll be able to convince the admission committee in US schools that you are better than your CGPA.

Wonderful words

Actually, I've found pretty decent places for less in the bronx. I'm not in NY at the moment so I've had someone contact the agent to schedule a tour. If its anything like what it looks like in the photos, I'm taking it. Btw, bronx is about the cheapeast borough in New York City

And how much is this less. What part of Bronx..... Yonkers side or low parts? You can't say it's decent until you actually see it yourself in person. Not to discourage you, Bronx is the most terrible of the 5 boroughs of NY and there are many slumlords in NYC

3rd to 7th September will be international students orientation. With the start date on my I-20 as 14th October, when do you think should be the best time to arrive in the country?

You just want to waste your few dollars... Try and arrange apartment with school or outside school, when making use of craigslist or other site just let them know that you pay upon arrival since you coming for the first time as a student
I want to arrange apartment outside school, most of them want u to pay a deposit n I read a lot of reviews on the apartments which were not so good, I heard Craig list have plenty scammers too, im thinking of staying hotel for a day or 2, coz if I land tn don't find any good 1 on d first day where will I sleep?

This is not about the area but the house itself.

Mind you, those slumlords won't return your last month rent and deposit if you default.

Well, as a student, you should be able to cope for some time.

Yeah I know. I don't plan on moving into any apartment I haven't seen personally.

Better. Majority of real landlords/agency in NYC will ask for your credit score and paystubs.

This makes newcomers and students victims of slumlords.

Dude, ask for the name of the street and google it. If all the news you are seeing about that street and it's surroundings are drugs, gunshots and gangs wahala, you know what to do. Also check out the route you'll walk between that street and your school.

Hi guys. I've dropped my transcript. Got my visa approval today. Thanks for the congratulatory messages.

One more thing. I requested for a change of ds 160 comfirm number but didn't get an autoreply mail. Went ahead with the one i didn't want to go with since that was what reflected on my appt page this morning. Visa was approved with it.

This evening I got a mail telling me the das 160 number was duccessfuly changed. I checked the page and it now reflects the new one.

I have a visa approval with the old one, and today the page now shows a new ds number. Hope this will not affect the already approved visa?

Anyone with info on how this thing works.

I already replied the mail explaining what I just explained here, butt no repy yet.

I was told by vo to pick up on thursday.

Keep record of the two DS160, so that they don't bite your ass later on. Cheers!

The international students orientation period is way too early in advance. Technically, by law you should go with the start date which is October 14th and you can only enter the US 30 days at most from your start date. Thus your travel should be anytime between Sept 14 and Oct 14.

It is strongly recommended that you use 1 sponsor. I would say use your husband.

You will end up spending all your saved $$ in the hotel. Motel here cost nothing less than $50 per night, that is if you search well. Which school you heading to?
