But most banks requires finger print verification for BVN linking.
Obviously this SMS stuff does not allow for that.

That's really surprising and curious.

If true, that would be a sheer waste of time. All the banks that I had business with only requested that I fill a form.

In fact, one informed customers that the BVN can be sent via sms to a dedicated phone number.
