Nigerians for once let's be civil and open minded,the OP brought a good comparison, the average Nigerian with his mentality of always managing anything he sees or his been thrown at him or her, we all know whatsapp has the traffic and it's a lovely app to use, sometimes i prefer it to bbm especially for group chat but i also have noted its short comings like small share sharing, now this new telegraph can do 1 gig of file transfer amongst friends in a chat or group, that's amazing and crazy, and finally a app that allows me to share other apps to my friends in chat type of way, Nigerians will never appreciate a genius idea, If the creators can keep it up, they would really be a big force and with over a million downloads already, it can only get better, but understated that the average Nigerians dislikes change, even tho it is clear the app has some added features but as Nigerians with low management mentality, don't be surprised with whatever you get from us, that's why you are least likely to see Nigerians living in Nigeria be very creative and creating brands and ideas that can rival others, it's because of this same mentality that has been displayed on this topic, my 2 cents, apologies if it hurts.

As we all know whatsapp has bin in existence for a long while before telegram came up, i will always prefer telegram to whatsapp for the following reasons
1. File sharing is very swift and durable on telegram, one can share files of 100mb or more to friends and loved ones, whereas on whatsapp you can only share the link to those files which i see as a long process.

2. Telegram has some added functions which can keep one busy incase your friends are not online e.g trivia bot, facts, quizz, and so, this feature is not available on whatsapp

3. Telegram have many more fun smileys and funny icons than whatsapp...
My last kobo whatsapp is just up there because of the traffic they have acquired over the years, i bet if they came out the same time telegram would have surpassed whatsapp! What's your take on this?

what about the difference in data consumption rate
