Recently, the labour leaders calls for 60 percent cut in national assembly members salaries and allowances. It is no more news that the President and his Vice last week cut their salaries by 50%.

The National Assembly members are expected to follow suit in the next few days when they come back from recess if not, according to an insider, the president is prepared to do the needful without any further delays.

First and foremost I never ever supported the pay of the legislators .

What I was stating was that Buhari has no constitutional powers over the pay of the legislators. Fact!

The news article is highly ignorant.

Secondly, Buhari's fake pay cut will be reciprocated by NASS on themselves and not by Buhari's orders. This will then be used to justify pay cuts in the federal service which Buhari can push for.

If you remember the last NLC election was rigged to favor APC sponsored candidates who are from the north.

The NLC will support this move and this will lead to poverization of federal civil workers who are one of the best paid in our polity.
