I drove pass Emuohia LGA secretariat yesterday at about 20:00hrs. I saw the Police Armoured cars still parked in front of the secretariat and gate closed. I hope that the order we are talking about will get to the police in RS for them to act in accordance to the order. Hope the state CP won't come up with framed gist to justify their continious stay at the gates of the LGAs

But the APC governorship candidate in the state , Dr. Dakuku Peterside, yesterday condemned an alleged impunity by Governor Nyesom Wike .

Peterside, in a statement in Abuja, said apart from the questionable borrowing of N30 billion , Wike was wrong to have dissolved state institutions created with tenured security .

He said: “ I had hoped that this government would take a cue from the Buhari administration but it is becoming obvious by the day that the Wike government does not intend to tow the path of honour and statesmanship and therefore does not deserve the trust of Rivers people .

“ On our path , we are duty -bound to protect our state and the interest of all our people and those who reside here. It is that call of duty and with the highest sense of responsibility that has compelled me to speak up.

“ Let us with continuing , unwavering faith in the True God and confidence in our judicial institutions, trust that we shall soon see the end of this era of impunity, directionlessness and crass disregard for the rights of our people and the constitution of our nation. Regardless of the darkness that has enveloped our state , we know that there is light at the end of the tunnel and we vow to leave no stone unturned until our people have reached their well - deserved Eldorado. ”

Peterside queried the alleged high- handedness of the
administration of Wike and why N 30 billion was borrowed
by the state in 30 days.

Peterside added: “ Six weeks after assuming office, the government has not made one single policy statement, rather it appointed the Nimi Walson Jack committee to design a blueprint for the running of government after it had taken off . A move that suggests we have the case of a rudderless state manned by persons whose only bond to the state is to siphon away our resources.

“ The mindless pursuit of vendetta against individuals, chasing of shadows and brazen impunity against the long - term interest of the state .

“ Obvious lack of commitment to the development of Rivers State . A case in point is the security situation, which has continued to deteriorate with criminality promoted at the expense of the safety of our people . Kidnapping and armed robbery are now rooted and government is doing nothing.

“ Poor understanding of public finance and questionable management of public funds as is evidenced in the borrowing of N 30 bn in 30 days .

“ Elevation of impunity to a new level and crass manipulation of institutions as exemplified by the needless local government council crises being orchestrated by the government .

“ Illegal dissolution of state institutions created by the constitution with tenured security . Ready examples include the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission , Local Government Service Commission , Civil Service Commission and the Rivers State House of Assembly Commission. ”

Dakuku Peterside, I can see you really dont have anything to say concerning the state of affairs in Rivers state, cos all I see is just that you are not happy at all about the N30 Billion been borrowed by Wike, cos you kept on repeating yourself over and over about the N30 Billion, but you forget to tell us that your master emptied the treasury of Rivers state spornsoring APC activities but state and National, which includes your own election that you lost, so how do you expect Wike to run the Govt with an empty treasury. The problem with you APC guys is that its OK when you do it but if others do it you call it impunity, Ambode borrowed over N30 billion as far as he is APC that is OK with you, the APC Plateau state Govt sack all PDP LGA Chairmen and put caretaker chairmen, to you its fine but to Wike that went through due process its call IMPUNITY.

We have come to understand you guys in APC, and we will not be taken for a ride again, cos you guys are even worse than PDP who are predictable, just look at you the other time you were in Lagos forming a Cow boy with your master, now you are in Abuja, when last did you visit Rivers state, you all run away from the state when it is time for election you all come around, even if the court calls for a re-election you will not win because you are not a people person, you cant not even express yourself, you are so dull just like Chibodum Nwuche.

Concerning this issue you guys will continue to loss because you don't seem to know the kind of person PMB is, don't be surprised that the police would be punished for this act of rascality that have committed, instead of enforcing the judgement they acted otherwise, that is what we call EYE SERVICE.

There are more surprises coming your way from the PMB, you all are in for a one Chance too.

If the explanations were not results of damage control, the Police would have briefed Gov. Wike who is the Chief Executive of the State before such actions.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has called on the people of Rivers State to remain calm despite policemen sealing up of all council secretariats in the  that on the orders of the Inspector General of Police.

Inaugurating the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission  ( RSIEC ) and the Rivers State Judicial Service Commission on Friday,  Governor  Wike  regretted that the Police would  take such an action  despite the  nullification of  local government elections  by the  Federal  High Court.

I agree with you on this. The decision by Buhari is a common sense decision what troubles me is the fact that some one else directed the force to lock down the local government thereby forcing the FG to dive into an issue that it shouldn't am expecting more of such distractions. Our politicians are too used to the impunity of the pdp and Buhari is only trying to bring sanity to the system

Is this news suppose to be a credit or signs of incompetence and absence of proactive government?

In whose Authority was the commissioner of police acting on?

I suspect Amaechi or Rivers State APC Chairman usurping Federal might.

President Buhari can't issue spontaneous order nor make precise decision (because he is afraid of making mistakes as he's learning on the job) and has no answers to most National problems without competent Ministers and Advisers

No one saw it coming even the LG Chairmen were having meeting in Abuja when the news filtered to them that they have all been sacked.

Our democracy has gone beyond flagrant disobedience of unambiguous court orders.

Most discussants and analysts should come to terms with the view that certain impunities are no longer sustainable in our democracy no matter which party holds Federal Authority in today's Nigeria.

Dakuku Peterside should go and grab a sit somewhere.

For years his Boss Amaechi did not deem it fit to conduct local government elections, rather when he saw that he has lost political grounds I'm the state, he decided to conduct an election few days to his exit from office.

Secondly. Amaechi borrowed several funds on behalf of the state within the last few months, yet he didn't deem it fit to pay the civil servants in the state.

Why are they crying foul now.

This reminds me of Joseph Mbu and GEJ erra when impunity is the order of the day. Someone needs to remind Police commissioner in Rivers that PMB is incharge, there is 100% support for rule of law. May almighty God bless President Buhari, certainly Wike will not complete that 4years with the manner he is being handing Rivers' affair.
