#Am very sad and depressed now...i feel less of a person#...hmmm..anyway pls anyone should tell me if its going to be too late if i pay my fees ending of this month/early nxt month.....#new student

btw..i was mocked for wanting to study at noun...dey said dat getting a job will be hard and dat i will be stigmatized...plus dat noun is a conventional hall for illiterates dat cant pass jamb and post-ume....
it was a massive humiliation...and it left me terriblly confused...frustrated and depressed...

it made me feel less of a person...someone dat cant fit in...pls am i on the right track..my sponsor is reluctant about releasing finance..and am feeling dat he doubts d nature of noun...i dont even knw what to think anymore.....

Even kazrem posted on whatsapp dat noun is not for young ppl dat r trying to escape jamb and post-jamb...(that means illiterates)... and its okay if dey r denied nysc...all dis thoughts r weighing me down...

...last yr...i got 230 in jamb 60 in post ume...going for mass comm unizik bt was denied...what made me attempt murder was dat a sec school mate got 200 in jamb..40 in post ume..same course and uni...
yet he got d admission cos his uncle is a lecturer...so am i an illitrate??

i tot dat instead of wasting anoda money, time and resources..i should go for noun...den dis!!

You have totally misunderstood my point. Let me make it clear for you that 1. I didn't say noun is not for young people that care trying to escape jamb or past jamb and that is not even the definition of illiterate. 2. I don't know where you got that meaning of illiteracy. Back to my point, what I actually meant is this: if you remember, what brought about my opinion was the issue of nysc and I said noun is meant for working class who want to upgrade and it is not expected from an employee to leave his work for a year and still come back to it. Go check open university all over the world, it comprised of working class but here in Nigeria, young people see it as an escaped route from jamb and post jamb. That is what I said.
And for those who those who said noun student are inferior, stigmatized blah blah , let anyone of them who studies entrepreneur and business management and in 200 level first semester come and have a contest with me (not bragging). This is the only institution where exam malpractice is at the bearest minimum, where you can't bribe lecturer and where you see your score immediately you do your exam. If you want to feel inferior and stigmatized, that is you not me. And lastly, let me remind to tell them that the same nuc that accredited their courses, accredited ours too. So what's the fuss?

Inferiority complex and low self esteem is injurious to human development. Understand where you are coming from and be sure of where you are going to. Shalom

Under normal circumstances you should be able to. But trust Naija discrimination thing. Get in touch with the school you are intending of transferring to if it can be possible through direct entry. Yes, it is true but don't expect that you will get all your course materials from the school 6-7 out of 10 will be a miracle.

What about exam registration?
Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by Nobody: 1:24pm On Jul 16, 2015
hello house, I dropped all my courses last semester due to my busy schedule and my e-wallet was credited with the money for exam registration. I have 13k in my e-wallet and I tried to register for this semester (second) but the system is telling to go and pay another 13k to the bank. is this normal? why can't I just use the balance in my e-wallet?

There is a compulsory fee of 13k to pay this semester, guess they have deducted it from the balance you had. You need to pay another one and continue with your registrations. Hope this helps

Am doing MIT and I have few questions please. Can they allow people to write project that has to do with researching how computing can be applied to areas of life or the will want technical topics? Also are they doing project defence in NOUN. Would have asked this questions in my SC but I haven't visited them this semester because I haven't been able to meet up with the financial commitments in registrations.

Thanks

Ofcourse yes, you will pay another 13K for compulsory semester fee. Just thank God it is not first semester hence you will be paying 23K if you are a returning student. Your balance of 13K remains in your portal and can't be use to pay compulsory fee even if it is up to 200K; you can only use it for exam and course registration. Without the compulsory fees, you can't do anything in your portal. That is the price once you missed all exam for a semester

Am sorry my mistake, compulsory fee is 40k not 50k 1st semester PGD.
Do we pay again for exam registration after the compulsory and course registration fees?
The portal not allowing presently to do exam registration.

That is one of the beauties of NOUN. Try and do it yourself, it will make your exam preparation easier because you would have covered almost all the course materials.
