A 25- year old man , Olagunju Waheed , who
allegedly entered a church premises with a
copy of the Holy Quran, is facing trial at a
Yaba Chief Magistrates ’ Court in Lagos.

A resident of No . 8, Aje St., Sabo , Yaba , the
accused is arraigned on a charge of breach of
public peace.

The prosecutor , Insp. Nwosu George, told the
court that the accused committed the offence
on July 12 at about 80 .00 a.m . at St . Dominic
Catholic Church , Yaba.

“The accused, armed with a copy of the Holy
Quran, was found loitering at the church
premises when a security guard approached
him and asked what his mission was.

“The accused could not give a satisfactory
explanation why he was there and he was
immediately apprehended .”

The offence, George noted , contravened Section
166 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State , 2011 .
The accused, however , denied the charge.

Ruling on the accused ’ s bail application , the
Chief Magistrate, Mrs O .A . Erinle, granted him
bail in the sum of N 50, 000 with two sureties in
like sum.

The case has been adjourned to August 26 for
trial.

When is going to the church with a Quran turn to crime. What if the young man was invited ti the church.

I just see some Judges who preside over this case as m*d people.

oga , what do u think would be the fate of any Christian who enters a mosque with the Holy Bible? Christians are even too kind to hand him over to the police especially with the high rate of insecurity in Nigeria.
