Yes there was a dichotomy
Egypt was never a part of Arabia.... And the Egyptian acceptance of the "Arab" identity is only a recent phenomenon.
Part of the Psychological conquering of Africans that is still happening to date..as evident from all the various silly responses on this thread from people who think they can possess jesus more than the oyibo who brought it to them...

That description of Sango looks like something you will get from the Carribeans and the South-Americans. I'm pretty sure the African yoruba version will have a slightly different Sango story. Let me call someone to lend credence to my line of thought.

I would love to see a high budget film on Sango biography film showing wars and thunders like mighty Thor.

Yoruba has the highest and largest and the most spiritual traditional institution in Nigeria and also in Africa (arguably)... hence their dominance...
