Does anyone know what I can use to stop my 9mth old baby's hair from breaking. I don't know if it is the weather (it's currently cold and harmattan-ish where I am now), or the water. I doubt it's the water though, cos it only just started. Or could it be a change in the conditioner I use for her for now? I had to get an adult conditioner (I chose a mild one that is meant for sensitive people) to use temporarily, as I could not get the kiddies one at that time.

Or could it be as a result of weaving? The educators at her childcare centre just like playing with her hair...African hair does them gish gish lol.

Help ooooooooooo!

Try coconut oil, it is very good.

I use shea butter and olive oil for her....and it has been working well so far. Just this breakage that started of recent.

Unfortunately, I van't get natural coconut oil where I am. The most I can get is products that have coconut oil as part of the ingredients.

Pneumococcal and Rotavirus are new vaccines. They have not been subsidised by the govt yet. Private hospitals and some govt hospitals give it. You have to specifically request for it.

It could be the conditioner. Pls try and get baby conditioner. Maybe that one is too harsh for her scalp. Then why do u allow them play with her hair? It could also be the cause. Abeg make them leave the pikin hair jare

Thank you all for the responses, was confused about the vaccines, saw 3 on the card I was given at health center, my hospital gives only 2 and a doctor told me 4 is to be given. Will go to the health center to get it.
As for the tips, the last time I fed him, I noticed there was small blood, is it safe to keep giving him cos when he burped, there was small blood that came out from his mouth. Should I just express or keep allowing him to suck

My baby takes similac advance so that's the measurement of her scoop, 1scoop of formula wl make 60ml of water,im sure ur scoop is half d size of mine which is not out of the norm as all formulas do not have d same scoop,iv posted this pics before,im posting it again for u to see the size of my scoop.
As for d ratio of formula to cereal, if Ure giving him cow n gate cereal lyk u mentioned in ur previous post, remember that it already contains milk? The cereal is not meant to replace his formula of course so what I do is...let's say my LO takes six bottles in a day, I feed her cereal twice, one jar of food, and den three bottles of formula. I'll try to look for d website instructions on cereal preparation den post to u.
And of course,if u feel the need to add more formula to ur cereal preparation, go along with ur motherly instincts, milk can never be too much
o

FexCathy:

Kinda confused o! D scoop u r talking abt is it a spoon u use or d scoop that comes with d formula. One scoop is for 30ml of water so 180ml of water is 6scoops. That's what's on my baby's cow and gate instructns plus I to that d formula shud be more dan d cereal or am I wrong?

Senior Beedam, Kindly explain again how to prepare cow and gate egg custard for my LO.
I remembered you said put half in feeding bottle and refrigerate the other half. add warm water and bottle feed.
Please put me through. thank you.
Also, is anyone using cow and gate strawberry and banana porridge (4-6months) with enfamil? or Gerber oatmeal with enfamil? i want to know the ratio of measurement please. Thanks

What I do is this,i pour half into his feeding bottle and start by Spoon feeding him. Once I'm tired of the S/feeding,i just add warm water and formula

I needed to put milk since my baby doesn't take thick food from bottle.

I don't use plate so that I don't have to start pouring the food from one container to the other.

Hello mamas, pls oo. Yesterday makes it 7wks i had my angel. Was having menstrual cramps and later saw scanty flow of blood, by midnight, i was having serious abdominal discomfort.
On waking up dis morning, i started stooling with blood(about 5times) and havent been able to eat all day.
Menstrual flow is now heavy.
Pls mamas, hope all is well
I saw my period 5 weeks after delivery and it was very heavy. I asked my doctor and he said it was normal that people differ and that's how my own system is and he said the funny thing is I may or may not see it next month and it will regulate itself.

Yea, av seen the scoop now. Mine is half of that so we are really saying the same thing. The cow and gate rice dosent contain milk cos it says one should add milk. Thanks a lot mimzy.

And that's why I got a mild and sensitive one o. Will stop it ASAP. Will stop everything for now, till I can get the one she normally uses.

I don't have to weave her hair cos by the time she comes back from daycare, they would have weaved 2 neat lines....so I'm enjoying osho free for now, cos I dont even know how to weave hehehehe. Will stop the conditioner first, then if it persists, will tell them to stop weaving it.

Thanks.

Hello Onegai, to an extent u r correct but some convertible car seats have same recline as infant car seat. I guess it depends on d one d person bought. Also for a carseat to be approved be it infant or convertible one, then d recline is correct. D only thing is convertible ones r bulky and u av to carry d baby out of it.

Onegai:

The infant one is better when they are quite young as they have the right incline for a newborn but babies outgrow them by 1year. The bigger chair is a convertible car seat, good for maybe 5 years (till the child outgrown it). The difference is that even though the convertible car seat can take an infant, it's still not at the right incline for a newborn (the baby is too upright.

Look at your lifestyle, if you know you will not use a car seat for long (though you should), get the infant car seat. I got a convertible and when I saw the incline, I borrowed a friend's own for the 2 months till my LO can fit in it comfortably. I'll take a pic of both and attach them.

1st is infant, 2nd is convertible.

D'Prince Stores at Isheri (Ojodu Berger) will definitely have. The owner's wife has a baby section on the first floor. That's where I bought the one I used in Naija.

Also, there is another baby store in Magodo...it's on the street just before the entrance (The street spendless is on, for those that are conversant with Magodo).

There is also another one around Isheri market...Femtom or Femton. She sells nice quality baby clothes also.

Have you been diagnosed with endometriosis? That is the only reason for severe menstrual cramps and popping blood. Go and see your gynecologist fast. It is well o.

Sis, d cramp is gone and flow now normal. Mumsy says she always see hers 6wks after delivery, so i guess no cause for alarm.

D stooling has stopped and i think there is a wound around d opening of my an*us, guess that wat cause d blood. Thanks
