starlingslimnet:confused guy again.never take things out of context. Joh 4:21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. Joh 4:22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. Joh 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. Joh 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. Jesus spoke about salvation here, how that the spirit will be given, how that people will no longer worship in temples of mountains, that the people themselves will become the temple of God see 1cor3:16,1cor6:19. in john4:22 he told them they dont know who they worship. that is just a brief summary,i can explain all in detail. |

PROPHETmichael:.Apostle Paul did not speak in tongues when he was baptized and received the Holy Spirit.....but he prophesied...... Now what is prophecy? The testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy...... So the Paul testify Christ is the Son Of God.....He declared God message. The 3000 who believes Peter message was baptized immediately with the Holy Spirit but they didn't speak in tongues.....The Gentiles receive the Holy Spirit before water baptism while the 3000 after water baptism should we now say you can't receive the Holy Spirit unless you do water baptism. The Spirit came down in form of tongue of fire can we now say for you to receive the Holy Spirit a tongue of fire must rest on your head before we can believe you receive the Holy Spirit? neither can an absence of shiroboborabomarae shows you lack the Holy Spirit. For the disciples were called Christains not on the basis of the gifts of the Spirit but on the basis of their life conduct which is dependent on the Fruit of the Spirit. To know if someone have the Holy Spirit you look at his fruit.Bad tree cannot put forth good fruit. Note:The comment of those present at the scene is "We hear them telling in our own tongue(Language) the mighty work of God" Apparently this is not shiroboborabomarae cos they understand what the Apostle is saying. Let me ask you this question that will summarize the whole discussion "How do you differentiate between a false prophet and a true prophet? Is it by shiroboborabomarae? Is it by The gifts he have or the fruit he bring forth? |

sportsmaster:clap for yourself, now what is this? Acts 2:6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude(comprising people that came from different nations who lived in the land of Israel at that time ) came together, and were confounded, because that every man(every foreigner ) heard them(Disciples ) speak in his own(these foreigners ) language. 2:7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans(refering to the disciples )? 2:8 And how hear we(how is it that we hear ) every man(every disciples of Jesus ) in our own tongue(speaking our own language) , wherein we were born? 2:9(people from different nations who lived in israel such as ) Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, 2:11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them (we do hear the disciples) speak in our tongues(speak in our languages ) the wonderful works of God. Now, leave your greek meaning or what ever, and explain this |
| Re: Praying In Tongues by PROPHETmichael(op): 1:49am On Jul 20, 2015 |
Iceflox:Two Types of Tongues The language of unknown tongues is often confused with the language of divers kinds of tongues. Notwithstanding, they are not one and the same thing. Unknown tongues is the supernatural ability to speak in an heavenly language by the power of the Spirit of God. We see this gift in demonstration in Acts 8:14-17, 10:44,45 and 19:1-6. Divers kinds of tongues is the supernatural ability to speak in an earthly language by the power of the Spirit of God. We see this gift in demonstration in Acts 2:1-11. Both types of tongues come up under the description called "other tongues." |

PROPHETmichael:That's crap. I asked in context is it the gifts or the Fruit? |
| Re: Praying In Tongues by Iceflox(f): 7:33am On Jul 20, 2015 |
PROPHETmichael:You are right, But why is that most times, pastors do not differentiate these things? They make people speak in tongues randomly in church without anybody interpreting what they are speaking, and in their mind they are repeating what happen on the day of pentecost in act 2:1-11 ? |
| Re: Praying In Tongues by Nobody: 7:37am On Jul 20, 2015 |
PROPHETmichael:Wonderful contradictions......You said and I quote "The gift of speaking in tongues is the first gifts of the Spirit you receive at Baptism" and you cited Acts 2:1-1 but here again at the bolded you said the gift they manifest is speaking in divers tongues when you had first said the tongue in that passage is Unknown tongue. The more you explain what your doctrine says the more you contradicts yourself |

Iceflox:follow line upon line, precept upon precept, Read this post line upon line, precept upon precept and with patience acts 2:5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem jews, devout men,out of every nation under heaven. Lemme explain this verse Many of us have assumed it was a "United Nations' gathering".Different nations under the heaven came to Jerusalem. But it is wrong see vs5 The assembly constituted JEWS,who came from every nation under the earth i.e. Jews from diaspora. The feast of Pentecost was for Jews, So they usually will come from thier different locations to celebrate the feast of Pentecost. Even Apostle Paul travelled the same way once: Acts20:16 For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, because he would not spend the time in Asia:for he hasted,if it were possible for him,to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost. Paul lived in Asia, but came to Jerusalem at Pentecost. This exemplifies the men from every nation above; JEWS WHO LIVED IN DIFFERENT NATIONS. the assembly constitutes Jews and Proselytes, all those nation listed was where they came from. let me explain pentecost itself, the Pentecost is a jewish feast, where Jews from all parts of the world will come together including Proselytes(i.ePeople who converted to the Jewish religion),even Apostle Paul travelled same way once, see Acts 20:16. the Pentecost is called the feast of weeks,i.e 7 weeks after the Passover, that is 49 days, plus the day of Pentecost it becomes 50 days. just like "PENT-AGON",what it means is simply 50. |

starlingslimnet:Sorry sir, there is no contradiction there at all rather you seems to have a bit of problem understanding English. Whether it's The GIFT of unknown tongues or divers tongues, is it not an act OF SPEAKING IN TONGUES? Hence, the first gift of the Holy spirit out of the 9 that you receive after baptism is the gift of Speaking in tongues and as you grow in the spirit, other gifts of the Holy Spirit will be added/activated in you. It doesn't matter whether it's divers tongues that you receive first or other tongues, the important thing i want you to understand is that THEY SPOKE IN TONGUES. In Acts 2:1-11, it was Divers kinds of tongues which is the supernatural ability to speak in an earthly language by the power of the Spirit of God that was first activated In Acts 8:14-17, 10:44,45 and 19:1-6 it was Unknown tongues which is the supernatural ability to speak in an heavenly language by the power of the Spirit of God that the disciples received first. |

sportsmaster:i understand your point. But are you saying that there were no gentiles (people of other nations ) who were converts of Judaism (the religion of the Jews ) who came to the land of Israel to observe the passover at that time? But whatever it is, whether they were all Jews. You will agree with me that some of them came from those nations mentioned in that scripture. That they understood the languages of those nations they came from. That they heard the disciples who were gallileans speaking the languages of those nations to their marvel ,and not grrogegeboboodillaala!!! rikskobgigoshishishiskodo!!! |

Iceflox:lemme refer you to Isaiah's prophecy. isaiah 28:11:- For with "stammering" lips and "another" tongue will he speak to his people. "stammering" here means "Unintelligible", "another" here means "strange and different" Again Mark16:17:- "and these signs shall follow them that believe,In my name shall the cast out demons, they shall speak with NEW tongues" the word NEW is the greek word "Kainos" check several greek dictionaries, Kainos means unheard of.of uncertain affinity, strange, entirely different, unused, unseen. No account ever refers to tongues and belonging to someone else languages. Paul settles this with a well laid out explanation. 1cor14:2:- if any man speaks in tongues,he speaks not UNTO MEN but unto God,for no man understands him, howbeit in the Spirit he speaks mysteries. |
