ok guys, so i've been contemplating posting my refusal story since yesterday. Seeing as i am a "not so silent" follower.
I'm not sure if posting my list of documents is necessary as i dont intend to re-apply. (probably my last contact with canadian embassy, forever and ever cheesy cheesy except they're sharing money there).
Just so you guys know they are still working;

submitted online, may 26th bio may 28th
full tuition and housing paid abt
dads statement total m
pgd tech management with project management. Course is meant for people with engineering background
school documents transcripts, prince 2 and capm certification
dads property docs
passport and visa pages
no sop ( of the opinion it wouldnt make a difference in my case)
Reasons: purpose of visit
family ties in canada and nigeria.

Wow, that's great!

@Sjvictor21, choose wisely;

A) Return home (Nigeria) to apply for your Canadian TRV,
in order to have an outstanding reason in convincing VO that you always return to your home country (Nigeria) after your studies,
also, writing your Nigerian Licensing Exam would be an added advantage for your TRV.

B) Apply from Ukraine,
by writing a more convincing LOE or ask @GboyegaD to help you with a redacted copy of the LOE he used, to be more safer.

Wish you best of luck bro,

ISTBC!!!

GboyegaD:

I applied from another country and it was approved in 6 days. I have friends I met here who also applied from other countries and they got theirs too. There's another guy who applied with his wife and kids and they all got theirs. I understand your point though and that is why I think your LOE is important since it represents you and your intentions.

1. Do u mean from Nija to Canada? If yes, then get a Gtbank naira MasterCard or First bank prepaid credit card, u can use both over there but dont forget ATM charges.
If am to move 15K cad, wat i will do is deposit 5k in my Account and travel wt 10k cash, cos ATM charges about #420 on each transaction if am nt mistaken

The problem is the exorbitant exchange rate these Nig banks charge for using atm outside the country.
GTB na confirm thief in that line. They will charge 13-17naira more of the normal cbn exchange rate and 420naira per withdrawal (suicide mission).

Have been monitoring the card exchange rates for sometime now.I will soon get a bank wit low and constant rates for withdrawal outside the country.

Wow. That charge na die o. 420 naira for each withdrawal. I think I'll just travel with cash and deposit some in my account just like you suggested. Thanks.
Best option deposit small cash in ur bank acct and travel wt most of ur cash, den use POS terminal to pay for anything u buy in canada till u exhaust all d money in ur acct.

Hi All,

I have been away from this thread for over a year. Well I just feel it is time to give back knowing how much help I got here last year. Getting info, making friends, getting accommodation in Canada and even buying a cheap ticket.

I am in Uwaterloo perchance if there is anyone that has been admitted to Wilfrid Laurier, University of Waterloo, Conestoga College, or CIC College or you know of anyone that may need help or information or coming to the Kitchener - Waterloo Region in Ontario, I will be too willing to help such person in settling in.

I am also aware the school, some campus groups, clubs and even the RCCG around campus will be helping with the pick up of new students from the airport and be taken directly to your destination or campus free of charge which will save you the hassles of settling in in a new country or getting out of Pearson Airport Toronto. I will be willing to give more help if required.

Whoever is interested can send me an inmail or just respond to this thread. I may not be able to respond immediately but I will endeavour to check in periodically daily to see if anyone requires my help.

I sincerely wish everyone awaiting a response from the embassy the best of luck.

Do have a good one

Hi Guys, Good day.
Great topic. I'm in a bit of a fix here. I've been having people (bad belle lol) say It might b impossible to get a Canadian study permit if I'm going for a program (PGD in HR) that is totally unrelated to my first degree (mass comm). Hence switching career. What extra efforts do I need to pull?
What are my chances of getting a visa seriously?

There is no certainty until you get the TRV at hand. Read back the last few days (less than 1 week ago) strange things have happened and make your conclusion.
It is however about or more than 99 % sure if you have passed medicals. Things are getting a bit delayed and difficult these days.
Let us however keep hope alive. No better option in the horizon. Cheers

Bros dont take risk of carrying plenty cash as its not safe and you are going to where you have not been before N420 as charges still makes sense than losing your cash and as a matter of fact your cash will be @ black market rate if you are changing it in Naija while master card will use bank rate. Think twice bruv my own candid opinion.

Update: Hubbys application (opeyemi8) was refused.he got to the hospital for his medicals and they couldn't pull up his information.went back to check for any updates and discovered a refusal mail was actually sent about 2hrs after he got a a mail to do medicals.
Reason for delay:Purpose of visit ,travel history and they are not convinced he is coming back.
We are refiring of course and thankful as much as we were when he got the medicals.

Nothing to worry about. This is purely a generic refusal reason. You nailed for been thankful all the same. Your refire shall definitely hit the target in JESUS name, amen. When did you submit? Online or Paper? What are the docs submitted in support of the application as well?
