I agree with this.

I learnt this when I was talking to a Professor who made me understand that many times they prefer to work with students recommended by Professors that they know very well.

Yes, I got the same impression from the prof who recommended me. I didn't know how important letters of recommendation were until I met him. With virtually no work experience and a pretty lame SOP, I think his letter did it for me.

September next year seems far away but it will be here before you know it. Keep your nose to the grindstone and you will soon reach the light at the end of the tunnel.

If you need help proofreading your SOP, I'm at your service. I have proofread lots of SOPs in my time. I must be decent at it as one of the friends whose SOPs I helped with got into MIT, and another got into Carnegie Mellon University (both for graduate school).

Bao1004:
Thanks a lot. Well, I thought I wrote a fairly good SOP but I can't say it's good anymore cause I didn't get in. Hopefully, I would try Again but next year September is far mehn. Sad

You would need to apply for an open work permit for your spouse and include your son as well so that when your PGWP is being approved, Your spouse and son get approval as well. Remember to fill your PGWP application properly and include all required documents as that is what determines if their application would be approved and he would be granted same length as your PGWP. Start reviewing the Express Entry program ooo because before you know the PGWP is close to expiration. Was your program a year or two year program?

Thanks. A two year program

No they ain't 419....used them before to buy ticket to UK...my advice is book online, then go to there office to pay...

Thanks. A two year program

If you attended a two year program then you qualify for a three year PGWP.

My candid advice, let hubby apply for a Spousal OWP, along with your son. As long as you both have enough funds in your accounts to sustain your family and with a well worded LOE or SOP, you can be almost certain that the visa is his.

Btw, why didn't hubby apply for this long before now? I mean few months into your study?

Did u finish from OAU too and did u study Economics, I used Adebayo and some other doctors. The professors could be really busy, took me a very long time to get Adebayo to complete the recommendation letters.
GboyegaD:

Awesome! Who are the professors that recommended you? I will suggest you approach Oladeji, Akinlo, Olomola, Adebayo, Soetan, and Folorunsho for recommendation.

Or he can just save himself the embarrassment and book an appointment. There's a very high chance that they won't attend to him especially at this rush hour medical period.

No form of embarrassment from any quaters for not booking an appointment.Let him go there before 8a.m,he will be attended to.In my case, i didnt book an appointment.

Because Canada is far na. + exchange rate. You'll spend close to that going to the US as well. And this is peak period, BA is 1.6M to Halifax, one stop, isn't that ridiculous?
Just book as soon as possible cos the prices will only go higher maybe until the end of September

I don't get it... why re these flights so expensive? Are they return tickets or one way?
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by TheBae: 7:48am On Jul 23, 2015
In my own case, my references were pretty basic, no professor or fantastic professional reference. I believe my SOP sold me.
So I guess we can't really measure how important the are but we know for sure that both can determine the admission committee's decision smiley

Wakanow is cool, I've used them for all my foreign trips. But I got a trick the last time, try booking late at night, between 12 and 5am, just try and stay awake and keep refreshing the page. This is because prices drop so ridiculously at night, and goes crazily high during the day, I gained close to 200k last time I tried it, although I booked pretty late, abt a week to my trip. Then if you're still skeptical about them, then no problem (I was also scared too), book on hold (you can do that online and it lasts for 48hrs or so), then rush to their office to make payment (either with cash or debit cards). I don't know all their offices in Lag, but if MM2 is close to you, then they have a stand inside the airport (local airport), else you can check their website for their other address(es).
You can also check TripAdvisor (if you use a samsung phone or an android os phone), or check www.priceline.com, you can also check www.momondo.com, just be sure to compare prices before you make payments.
Good luck

What would it really cost to simply book an appointment? The receptionists really embarrassed a lot of families that didn't book or didn't come early enough. Just speaking from my experience.
