Any current update on UK student visa rules

@ujugirl88 Dissertation time for most folks, others probably at a graduation ceremony, regarding your question no changes to the student visa rules at least none that I know of.

What I am driving at is how he got a job offer without first applying for the role. If they are making him a job offer, I assume there will be a company name and the terms of the offer except if he meant "job vacancies".

i just want to be sure about the companies cos there are so many safety officer job openings supposedly in uk and it feels weird and unreal...plus i am working in dubai...so i just want to clarify

In that case I will assume you were interviewed by the companies and have an offer letter. Totaljobs is a popular site but I am not aware of career structure. Before you leave your job, make sure you have a job offer and a valid work permit. Also note that immigration into the UK is getting tougher.

What's with the hype about this Russell group hype biko?

I worked in a Financial Institution before i left Nigeria to study in the UK study and i was fortunate enough to sample opinions from 2 of my directors (who happened to school in the UK) on my choice of Uni here in the UK.

I got offers from Surrey, Essex, Leeds, Kent and Aberdeen.... when i brought up the Russell group argument; Both of them waved it away immediately.... "Who cares if you have a degree from an Elite school if it's not reflecting on your performance" was their curt response.

If you got a certificate from Durham and you can't prove your mettle at the interviews; sorry is your name oh!! a Sunderland degree holder will clinch the job if he does better than you.
I ended up choosing a Uni thats not in the Russell group and is yet ranked higher that 70% of the so called Russell group....

I don't regret it one bit now... With bi-monthly CFA classes and Bloomberg tutorials....i'm waiting to see how a Uni Manchester grad will outshine me... i'm just waiting to see really!!!

I have gone through this thread,but unfortunately no one seems to be going to university of reading, I have checked the rating which is good, but why are nigerians not going there, I actually loved what I saw online but I can't trust that for such a huge investment....
