The same north that wrecked the country throughout the military regime..They are back to putting finishing touches to what they started..All thanks to some slaves from SW. Nasir El-Rufai said that buhari is insensitive to Nigeria's diversity and he's a promoter of ethnic & religious supremacy...

These have always been true and continues to be true...Buhari gained popularity in the north due to his stance on Sharia late 2000's...

Mynd 44 pay these Jonathan's ass lickers less attention.

Its useless and pointless in engaging them in any meaningful discuss.

I shy away from people who thinks Jonathan was the best democratic president for Nigeria since 1999,because I don't take such people serious and will never.

You accuse someone of nepotism and ethnic bias yet you want"your brother"to remain in power for life.

If this isn't hypocrisy,I don't know what it is.

Mr Badmus, I really appreciate this write up. It shows that there is Hope for the youths in this country because all I have been seeing recently is a party addict writing all sorts of gibberish to defend his or her party and destroy the opposition. But here, WE have an objective head irrespective of your party. I reverence your beingness.

Let me register my full agreement with all that was said in your writeup. But my GOOD man, a cursory look at Nigeria's political history will show that WE have never been blessed with leaders who shun ethnicity and regionalism. Even the best of them all, at one time, defiled the tenets of Federalism. If I may stand in defence of Mr. President, I think WE should be more concerned about what he DOES than what he SAYS. Granted that his words and gestures might have fuelled optimism in the camp of secessionists but I assure you, Buhari is what is best for NIGERIA now (out of the possible options). His words WERE reckless for a leader and his aides should put it to his notice but that doesn't undermine his capabilities in delivering his promises. Many a politician have made far reckless statements yet they went on to modify it with their actions, Let us Hope Mr. President will do same.

Thanks and once again, GOD bless your course.

SW takes the cake since independence in voting along ethnic lines...fact ##

People that voted Jonathan did for several reasons aside ethnicity... BTW topic here is buhari...why is it that most of you find it difficult to concentrate on topic of discussion... it begs the question, how did you get through schoolhuh

Quit making blanket statements devoid of facts...Buhari has been an ethnic and religious jingoist since God knows when...

Buhari failed woefully as a head of state both in economic management, job creation, infrastructure development, etc...That you weren't born or of age then isn't enough excuse for you not to read up historical facts...

As PTF chairman too, buhari was mere figurehead while Salihijo of APC consultants called the shots...

So from where did he gather his leadership prowess?...For what economic decision or imprint do we remember him?...He became popular in north in late 2000 thanks to his stance on sharia...

Which leaders showed ethnic bias in words and deeds in modern Nigeria?...name them or quit making ignorant statements to defend myopic opinion...

btw People have to ask the right questions irrespective of their political affiliation especially if you're in opposition...

We value the convocation of an ELECTED NATIONAL CONFERENCE by election by INEC of 5 delegates from each of our 780 Council Areas now. The Conference will zone the Nation into 4 equal zones of 9 autonomous states each. The NC will calve out equal area from each zone around Abaji for FTC. The NC will decide authorities for Revenue Sourcing and Sharing Ratio formulae. The NC will decide on many of the issues plaguing this Nation. We want an ELECTED NATIONAL CONFERENCE NOW.

President Buhari has spoken.

The fact that those who gave him their mandate will be rewarded, does not automatically mean those who didn't will receive punishment.

I have noticed the butthurt TANoids are trying to create the impression that they are not alone in their mess.

Be guided, you are on your own.

Is that what's obtainable in sane democracies the world over? I very much doubt that.

Warning: Let no wailers jump on my post here to further their wailing!

I was disappointed not only in the president's thought process while answering that question but also for saying to the world he would favour those who gave him 97% over those with 5%. This was completely off mark coming from him.

However, it's important to stress it that PMB was our better option in the last election. Jonathan had already proved to be incompetent in directing our affairs. If the election is repeated again and again between GEJ and PMB, I have no doubt that Buhari will still floor Jonathan.

So, to those who are already saying "didn't we warn them?", please keep your grandstanding to yourselves. Under Jona, Nigeria was sliding into a failed state with massive looting with reckless abandon. We needed someone to bring sanity into the system and Buhari was the only other alternative.

cheesy I don't do tales by moonlight bro...Add the historical fact below to 2015 election cool

The South-West zone has 14,296,163 registered voters, which represents 19.44% of the total number of voters nationwide. In terms of national electoral strength, the zone is number 2. Taking into account the electoral behaviour of the South-West since independence, the zone has proven itself, without exception, of incapable of
voting anyone other than its own. In the 1st Republic, it voted mainly Action Group in favour of Chief Obafemi Awolowo with about 69% voters’ turnout. In the 2nd Republic, it voted 78.75% of its total votes cast for UPN in favour of Chief Awolowo, with 70% voters’ turnout.

In the June 12, 1993 presidential election, the pattern was repeated more or less the same, except that the total percentage of SDP’s votes in favour of Chief MKO Abiola rose up to 84.5% in the zone.

In the 1999 presidential election, mainly because the only two candidates for the presidency were both from the South-West, the zone’s voters’ turnout was abysmally low (48.09%) with about 68% of the votes cast to APP in favour of Chief Olu Falaye. 2003 also recorded poor voters’ turnout with 71% of votes cast for Obasanjo’s PDP.

In 2011, with no Southwestern candidate fielded by any
of the major parties, the South-West voted PDP when a functional alliance with the CPC failed to field in Sen. Tinubu or his nominee. Besides, with the vicious experience of AD in 2003 when the PDP Federal Government uprooted its governments in five states of the zone, the South-West cannot now afford to risk having an opposition PDP government at the federal level again; certainly not after the hard pains and toils of forming the APC. It is therefore existential for the South-West to vote APC at the presidential election.

Well I guess it is out of the abundance of GEJ'S heart he said he does not give a damn about declaration of assets. Or that Stealing is not corruption. Does that mean GEJ was just about stealing and stealing?

As I said, all politicians (from Obama to Hitler) are what they are and what can be expected of them is that they should be slightly better than the other guy.

Expecting every speech a politician makes to be correct and devoid of talking point is implausible
What i dont understand is,for how long would Pmb live in Gej's shadows? Why do you guys have to bring Gej's name up anytime Pmb is been caught in the wrong side of things? Its getting obvious everyday that you guys are begining to lack objectivity and consistency, hence bringing Gej's name up when there are no better ways to defend the indefensible Pmb.This is likened to clenching at straws.

So we should support and not criticise the government that has a bad agenda for a set of people (which of course has a random effect) because the past administration failed? What a mediocre and awkward way of thinking.
