In the meantime, Nigeria is to draw down investments and cash worth $13.6 billion following negotiations and understanding reached by Buhari with the American government during the visit, Sunday Vanguard learnt, yesterday.

A breakdown of the $13.6 billion earmarked for Nigeria, courtesy of the Buhari US visit, shows that $5 billion is coming for investments in the power sector, another $5 billion is to fund investments in the agricultural sector, $1.5 billion is from the Bill Gates Foundation while $2.1 billion is being provided by the World Bank.

Of particular interest is the discovery that the huge sums being brought for investments into the country, according to the Presidency official, attract no counterpart funding.

Similarly, in its efforts to assist Nigeria eradicate polio, the Bill Gates Foundation, which is revving its support with additional $1.2 billion, is extending its areas of coverage to four more states – Kaduna, Sokoto, Borno and Yobe.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President described Buhari’s outing in the U.S as a monumental success.

According to him, no Nigerian leader ever achieved that kind of success in one visit.

Secondly Maybe u Ar not privy to know DAT Kenya is d Ancestral home of Obama, his families Even his half sisters Ar there... Obama is d first US president to ever visit kenya, Nigeria have had US president visit us in d past so I don't think there is should b a fuss about DAT. I recently asked myself a thought-provoking question today.What was the recent visit by our president to America able to achieved? To be honest, for a moment I couldn't give a concrete well thought answer to that question. Below are some of the things I thought our president failed to achieved No assurance with the US support for arms, equipment and intelligence to accelerate ending the insurgency in the NE No concrete economy policy and plan (This was evident during the CNN Amanpour interview when asked about the economy) No clear cut ways of how to recover looted and stolen money by some of our rogue both serving and past politicians. Not a single well documented partnership deal was sealed in any area. Was it infrastructure development, power, education, health, technology and services? Nothing Didn’t discuss anything about the AGOA (African growth and Opportunity Acts) Extension and Enhancement Act. To me this is one key and vita area he would had brought to the table as Nigeria being the power house in Africa development. Apart from the 'no to gay marriage' which they are using to score cheap political points that wasn't part of the official agenda in the first place, please what other things the recent visit able to achieved? Oh well, maybe he went to thank the America for helping him win the election. See the below quote during his meeting with John Kerry the secretary of state PRESIDENT BUHARI: Thank you very much, (inaudible). I’m very pleased to get this opportunity to thank the Secretary of State because his visit to Nigeria, which he’s just referred to, since his visit seemed like a friend to Nigeria.
