Apart from Gbajabiamila from the South-West geopolitical zone, who eventually become the majority leader, Dogara also announced Buba Jibrin (North-Central) as the deputy house leader, Alhassan Ado Doguwa (North-West) as the chief whip, and Pally Iriase (South-South) deputy chief whip.



Also, for the minority positions of the PDP in the House, Leo Ogor (South-South) is the minority leader; Chukwuma Onyema (South-East) is the deputy minority leader; Yakubu Umar Barde (North-West) is the minority whip; and Binta Bello (North-East) emerged deputy minority whip.

The speaker and deputy speaker in addition with the eight persons from both divides will form the body of principal officers of the House, which now has at least one member from each of the six geopolitical zones of the country.

Hon. Mongunu will definitely get to head a very important committee. For Dogara, settling with the Gbajabiamila camp is in his own interest. He can't sleep comfortably while presiding over a house where majority of his own party members are in opposition to him.
