Hello House,

I got my USA F1 student visa granted with a plan of attending my MSc in one of the Universities but a week later got a German visa to study in a University too in Germany. Having gotten the two Visas, i decided to attend the university in Germany because the MSc program has a better prospect than the one i was offered in the USA, and also comes with an affiliation with one of the leading international organizations in the world,no language barrier as it is offered in English language. The cost implication are not that much, got a partial funding in the US and what i am expected to pay in the first year is 2.8M with a chance of getting a tuition waiver in the second year, while that one of Germany is a tuition free but with a deposit of around 1.9M in a german bank before leaving Nigeria. Money is available for both, so money is not a barrier.Where i need advice now is, if i eventually go to germany without making use of the F1 visa, what is the implication? and what if enter america just for going sake because i have not been there and i decided to leave after one month for Germany because resumption in America is August 25th, while resumption in Germany is Sept 28th. Please what is also the implication of entering and leaving within one month without attending the school?

My people,
I need your help here. I sent a professor a mail about working with him on a research project. He replied me this morning. How do guys suggest I do not screw up this chance? What should I wirte and what should I not write?

My mail:
Dear Prof. X,
I completed my BS degree in Computer Science at ??, ?? last year and currently applying to ?? MS program. Looking through the department website, I have become interested in your research and think I would be a good fit in your research group.
I have read your paper, "Simulation of Mobile Treatment Monitoring System" I found on the ACM digital library (www.??.com) and I find it interesting. I was particularly fascinated by the medication adherence tracker simulation as I have been using simulation techniques to test and validate requirements for a Primary Health Care Information System being developed in the Health Informatics lab where I currently intern in Nigeria.
Due to the importance of adherence in healthcare, I think this tool should be validated, verified or evaluated to determine it's effectiveness. I believe this is pertinent as the cost and repercussion of non adherence in terms of money and lives is immense especially for cardiovascular diseases. Could this work be extended towards this regard? Do you think it would be worthwhile to pursue this line of research?
I would like to know if you would be accepting new graduate students for fall 2016. Thanks very much for your time. I hope we have the chance to speak about research in the future.
Sincerely,
??

His reply:
Dear ??,
Thanks for your interest. The aforementioned research sure can be extended. Several of my students are graduating and there will be several openings in my lab. Best wishes,

This is how you know someone who means business!

Start by thanking him for the response and the possible space for research in his lab. Simply tell him how delighted you would be to work with him. Importantly, you should let him know you are turning in your application shortly.

EDITED:

Riddy, honestly, you are doing well. This is huge.

There is nothing wrong with going to the school in Germany, but you can't travel to the US on the F1 visa if you aren't going to school. You would be eligible to apply for a B1/B2 tourist visa instead.
