The significance of the study has nothing to do with human skin colour. It has everything to do with ANIMAL FUR. The significance is that melanin IN FUR is somehow connected to adrenaline, which in turn is connected to AGGRESSIVE behaviour. In ANIMALS.

What you failed to take into consideration while making the connection between this study and human skin colour is that both the wild and the tame foxes have PINK skin under their melaninated (or de-melaninated) fur. If you want to make it about humans, you should probably be talking about blondes (of European descent) and brunettes (of European descent).

Pleep, I read the description from the scienceblogs link, since the in depth explanation does not seem to be available, and I believe that I understand what you're arguing for here.

So my next question is what evidence is there that for humans, adrenaline production shares a biochemical pathway with melanin production?

I would think melanin production in humans just varies with environment, not as a result of levels of adrenaline production. Or do you know of some research which shows melanin production and adrenaline production being coupled for humans?

We know melanated people are different and I'm glad someone's attempting to divulge information we know exists. We're all convinced of somewhat positive yet distinguishable attributes: black men everywhere on average have bigger joysticks and the most melanine, Asian men typically have the smallest with the least melanin, coincidentally white people are in between the two. The same pattern exists for "intelligence" and other physical features like black women having more shapely bodies than Asian women. Black's typically have the kinkiest of hair.... African Americans make up a small fraction of the US population but remains the majority in American sports, where having aggression helps in physical activities. The same racial composite is seen in Eurocentric sports as well. These are all attributes we can see, but there may exist more inconvenient truths under the surface as well and I'm glad someone is at least looking into it.

I believe and don't have issues with the possibility that Blacks may be more aggressive ( mostly towards ourselves ) but the sooner we can eat this truth we may be able to handle it.
