Now that's a colourful city... No dirty brown roofs littering the skyline. It would be nice if they fix some street lights and mark the roads though.

I tell people that the closest city with resemblance to Abuja in terms of modern structures and colored roofing is Awka. If you look at Awka skyline pics, you can easily mistake them for Abuja.

when you see how he is well manicured ,pedicured ,facials done and clothes always on point,you will know the chap is organised and we r seeing it in Anambra,not the other chap 1hr drive away from Anambra ,that went to shook hands and print bill boards,with pot belly like Peter Griffins.

From ibadan in oyo state i say anambara u too much.

You dont need to be told that a Governor knows what he's doing. You just know it through is proclamations.I didnt really support Obiano when he was contesting but i think he understands what Anambra needs. But i think more effort should be put into Onitsha than any city in ANambra.

Afam, I agree with you 100% but Obiano is not just developing Awka the capital city, he is also sanitizing Onitsha, Nnewi and other major towns in Anambra.The guy is indeed God sent. You need to see recent pictures of Onitsha to understand that the city has improved greatly. Anambra is not yet there, but there has been tremendous development in the last few years. In a few years time, Anambra will be a conurbation as all its 3 major cities will merge.

For a few years now, ive been requesting for pictures of developmental strides in Anambra which i did not get. The fact that i'm seeing images now speaks volume.

Can't wait to see this proposal come to fruition. Awka, Nnewi and Onitsha should all benefit from urban renewal, based on the UN-backed master plan.

One of the only time I come to naira land and have a smile on my face is when I hear and see what the governor of anambra state is doing.........I pray he moves at the speed of sound in developing the state and bringing it back to the glory it once was.......if he continues like this, I don't think igbos would have to be begged to come back home. They would do that on their own........God bless Gov Obiano and any other Governor who genuinely uplifts the life of their masses.......

Akwa still remains one of the most disorganized state capital in Nigeria. In short, with the exception of Enugu, all the state capitals in the south-east are disorganized and poorly planned. This is as a result of myopic leaders in the south-east. The only glimpse of hope is obiano. The rest are stooges

Any design or 3D renders of this new estate? I think a lot of compensation and tearing down of existing buildings has to be done first before any serious headway can be made of turning Awka into a world-class city! We're talking of at least 3 billion dollars here!

Forget what Chino is saying. Chino doesn't live in Awka. But he surely visited Anambra last xmas.
There is no way you can live in Awka and keep recycling old internet pictures of a place that has long been transformed without even knowing your picture is outdated until some like you or Buddah send updates.
Just no way Chino won't be posting pictures of updates as they happen, even if it were just to annoy Abagworo to prove Anambra is better than Imo.

Most Igbo cities are okay. I have discovered a European city known as Corlu in Turkey which has Igbotic houses. The only difference is the environment and then maintenance culture. They repaint their houses regularly removing that unkept looks we have in Igbo houses.

With little effort, Onitsha could be like Corlu at least.
