It is not right by taking one way cus many have been killed by this act. The other day, a lady git killed in Delta as a result of policemen driving against the traffic.

Truth be told, the hatred we have for Nigerian Police has clouded our reasoning. Those LASTMAN officials could be prosecuted for obstruction of Police duties. If you like rain insult on me. Just try and learn. Its a simple law that empowers Nigerian Police and most Federal government Law enforcement officers. Oya mumu abuse me

Yes,LASTMA has every right to challenge them cos nobody is above the law and besides they are doing their job.

was in Ikeja traffic and saw a police van drive pass using one way and I was thinking this is so wrong but unknown to me there were lastma officials ahead and stopped them. By the time I got to where they were stopped I was shocked seeing these lastma guys challenging the police guys. I had to take pics as an original Nairalander.

This is wrong on all levels, and had the Police officers understood the constitutional provisions of the law that caters for the NPF, then they would have arrested the LASTMA officers for obstruction of duty. The police are there to prevent crime and protect lives and property, and that can take them anywhere at anytime and thus are exempt, in this context, from traffic guidelines that are binding on all other motorists. There's no "One-way" for the police, every way is a "Right way" whether against traffic or not. That's why they are the police, it's part of their constitutional privileges. Doesn't have to be when there's a crime in progress that they are allowed to move against traffic regulations. Sometimes, moving against traffic regulations will prevent crime at the said spot from happening. If the police were mandated to follow traffic regulations, then it will significantly limit their ability to fight crime effectively in urbanized societies with a vast road network. Imagine seeing a gang of criminals on the wrong lane and then they first need to go and do a u-turn maybe to get there. The criminals would have fled before they reach them. Every second counts to saving lives and properties when you're a crime fighter in a world of crime.

most time i see those police patrol vans carrying one woman to the market to buy food stocks, and i keep asking myself why? is it made to carry their girls friends? they even blow siren trying to impress the girl.

there was dis day I was going out with my friends to drink, I saw dem speeding like der is an emergency . Just wen I got to d bar, I saw the people friend (police) with girls drinking
