Hi,

This is a Widal Test.

The result above is insignificant, or negative.

Significant result is when the titre is up to 1:160, or when there is a 4-fold rise in each titre when the test is repeated over the weeks.

Note that you cannot base a diagnosis of typhoid fever on this test alone, in an endemic community like ours, as the test will even pick up past cured infections or cross-react with other common disease-causing agents, eg Malaria. This is why, according to Widal test, and those who interprete it without these considerations and without clinical features, almost everybody has typhoid fever almost every time.

Diagnosis of typhoid fever is first clinical. The Widal test at best only supports a clinical diagnosis.

All the best.
Thank you very much doc. But then what is the meaning of the test result

Hi,

For the widal test, please refer to my response above.

Your PCV, or your blood level, is normal if you are male. It is high if you are female.

The WBC Total is low.

There is lymphocytosis, meaning that the lymphocyte is higher than it should.

The WBC count result is abnormal. It is likely a lab error. You may repeat at another lab to comfirm.

However, commom causes of the picture above are viral infections.

With your symptoms and signs, your doctor will be able to know if you have any such infections.
Thanks a lot Dr.
The whole test result is actually a male's
Saw Dr today he said its just malaria according to d Mp result.he didn't say anytin about d WBC.and as I don't have any idea on wat wbc means I tot all is well cos he certified d other results OK.will go back for evaluation den.

Heloo dr, May God bless ur good works, pls what does it mean, when a Tvs result says Both ovaries are hyperplastic with numerous tiny follicles seen arranged peripherally around a dense stroma. No follicular maturation. Thanks
It implies that the ovaries are of increased sizes or volumes (hyperplastic) and contain many developing eggs (follicles) none of which is mature.

What cylce day was the scan, and what symptoms informed the TVS? Are you seeing a gynaecologist?

The sperm count of 20 million is borderline -the lowest limit of normal.

All other aspects of the sperm are very fine: motility, activity, morphology, are all well within the normal range.

Not a bad result.

Good evening,

Dolometa B contains Diclofenac. This drug is avoided in pregnancy, and indeed all drugs except folic acid are avoided in very early pregnancy.

Unless when the benefit of using the drug outweighs the risks of using same.

I would advise you hold on till you rule out pregnancy, just in case. A blood pregnancy test could be positive tomorrow (if conception had occured) since your period is expected in 3 days' time.

Your own test result is negative, meaning you do not have significant evidence of having typhoid fever.

I did the scan on CD17, have been having absent/ irregular periods after the birth of my first baby, and she is 2yrs and 4mnths now. Am thinking of changing hospt,I decided on my own to do the TVS, my dr was just precribing clomid for me without finding out the cause of my problem sad, I attached d complete report below.

Nope not infertile. The result is actually ok, just that the sperm count could be improved upon.

It is not unfertilized egg. If it is implantation bleed, PT will be positive or you miss the next period.

The feeling could pass for Premenstrual Syndrome.

The brownish discharge is not abnormal close to a period.

All the best

Ok.

The radiologist said it is PCOS.

It can also explain your symptoms.

Clomid is used for ovulation induction in PCOS.

Metformin is also an important part of its treatment.

Hi Doctor

I had myomectomy precisely a year ago. Before then, I went for hsg and was told I had 'Bilateral tubal blockage'

Fast forward to now, a repeat hsg result states "Fallopian tubes were demonstrated bilaterally with spills but with perifimbrial contrast loculations.

please explain

Thanks

Ok.

But these are trade (marketting) names, rather than the generic (medical) names. I don't know these trade names.

The generic names are written in smaller fonts right below the trade names.
Flutin-combination of fluconazole and tinidazole.
Gyno-daktarin - miconazole nitrate
Floxavid- ofloxacin.
Pls rate them

The count of 2 million is extremely low. Other parameters are however normal.

Usually, for a count that low, IVF is advised, especially if the partner is in her 30s. He also needs to do hormone assay and later karyoptype test to rule out genetic causes.

Staph growth is usually a contamination, but to be safe you may treat with antibiotics suggested by the MCS report.

Well, this report suggests that most sections of the tubes are patent ('open', not blocked), hence the spillage, but there seems to be some adhesions are the fimbrial ends of the tubes, hence the loculation. The fimbriae are the brush-like parts of the tubes whose main job is to collect released eggs into the tubes for fertilisation.

It means that the fimbrial ends are not patent to allow free passage of the 'HSG Fluid'.

The implication is that eggs from the ovaries cannot enter the tubes easily (if at all), meaning that conception is just as hard (if at all possible for now).

It is, however, probably an improvement from the former report.

Ok. Both fluconazole and miconazole are antifungals.

Ofloxacin and tinidazole are antibiotics.

They are good drugs on their own right.
