InglishTeechar:I'm glad you've learned something today. I'm waiting for his statement though, I won't think Ill towards a governor who trends as a performing governor by his state residents until the allegation is proven. This same benefit of doubt would be accorded to Peter Obi and Kwankwasor. |

InglishTeechar:Let's wait till he issues a statement. Thanks for your bringing this to public notice so we can clarify issues and rid this country of corruption |

Happiness87:I don't know that. The law ideally is blind, but he's genuinely respected among Lagosians for his achievements and inclusive governance so I guess lots of people will be heartbroken to see it end this way. |

socialmediaman:no true, just that they are too busy waking up by 4am to get to office by 7. 30am and return home by 9pm. They don't have time to pay attention to details, a state with 200bn IGR, if 50bn is used judiciously for projects, you can steal 150bn and they will not notice. that is what is happening in Lagos, similar in Akwa Ibom, Rivers and kano ![]() |

Bgino:Thanks for reminding me of my stand on issues. I still maintain my stand on that and like I stated, Fashola is one of the governor's I admire, just like Peter Obi, because their state residents have widely proclaimed their stewardship. For these 2 governors and few others, I would like to give them benefit of doubt before judgement. But for persons known to have achieved little within their capacities, this will not hold, irrespective of political affiliation. |

Happiness87:Well if you see it that way, then you might as well say that's what happens everywhere in the world. As long as roads are good, traffic laws against traffic and other crimes are enforced on the streets, Justice is available, jobs are available, people can get good education and healthcare etc, they don't really care what goes on in government house except it generates media attention like this one |

socialmediaman:While you are in the act of governance, your spending should reflect your earnings and the socioeconomic environment at that time. 78million for a website upgrade by a public servant for his personal website is a colossal amount of money and I can't see how to justify it. If he is a business man, it wouldn't have been a scandal. |

Fashola is not a saint ,but I doubt. If wat is on ground is real, were are the fact at least the bank transcations, the award letter.we shld verify fact before we comment on any issue.a man character cld be on the line here. |

mykl01:1. Personal or not, you have no clue per the content of former state's executive's retirement package so you can not reach any kind of conclusion per any wrongdoing. Even his prewdecessor has something similar and obviously done by the same vendor. We are talking about legislated budget instituted by a constitutionally legislated government agency. 2. The agency in charge did not hide the project, it's intent or the amount. It's right there fully disclosed for the public to see. When people commit illegal acts or wrong doing, they hide it away from the public including you. 3. The state procurement agency awarded the contract and you can not tell me you know terms of the contract, what it includes or doesn't. 4. With all the millions of ways available to steal billions and get away with it, is awarding a 78 million naira website contract and disclosing it on a public website for everybody to see the best and smartest way to steal..? This is nothing but a pointless hysteria over nothing.. |

aresa:Catch am catch am. Thief thief thief! Na wa for una authority stealing in the name of budget. So 78 million was the most competitive sum. Who got the contract and how much kickback dem share? The money reach u eko ile? |
| Re: Fashola's N78 M Scandal Trending On Twitter by Nobody: 1:51pm On Aug 08, 2015 |
cabaliciouscabal:If he does or does not get appointed it's nobody's problem. The point is you can't be serious about fighting corruption if you are surrounded by it. Nigerians (some) voted APC on their anti-corruption mantra and so far, from the issue of public declaration of assets(150 cows shouldn't take so long to count) to this latest scandal it seems they were short-changed. If this 78 million deal is true, we would love to know if they will still fight corruption or not because you cannot run and scratch your anus at the same time. |

mykl01:Awarding contract for 78 million can not be termed corruption until we see exactly the content, what was ordered against what was finally delivered. And if it really was a bloated contract to loot, who benefited, in whose account the money went and was the former governor directly instrumental in any way regarding the contract. What you are doing is called assumption, rumor mongering and speculations.. |

Bit by painful bit APC leaders are being shown to be what they truly are CORRUPT!!!! I'm sure Jonathan is chilling on a recliner in Otuoke, sipping his "infamous ogogoro" and laughing at the The real Wailers!!! See as they run about trying to justify evil with lies. |

989900:Thanks for your input. I decided to give him benefit of doubt because he happens to be one of the very few governors I respect, comparatively like you mentioned. I would also accord this same privilege to a man like Peter Obi, these few people at least can be accorded some benefit of doubt until the charge against them is established. I'll wait for him to release a statement before I make further comments on the issue, that's my position for now. If people have more details about this contract, I'll be glad to view them and do my personal accessment. I'm glad the media is coming hard on our public officers though, that's how it should be. |

Sabrwahaqqo:you are a hypocrite for calling for fair hearing now that fashOLE is involved. Why didn't you call for fair hearing when Odua was being accused? Or when so many unfounded allegations were being leveled against GEJ's administration? Blaody tribal bigot! |

CACOL, Civil society group mess up Jonathan with pressure and got him confuse when trying to do appointment, they have started again with BUHARI, be warn, if you have personnel problems with FASHOLA go and sort it out. No civil society group again is qualified to advise BUHARI on who to choose or not ot choose for appointment. This people on appointment are not working for civil society group but BUHARI and MR PRESIDENT is getting it right on appointment so I don't think BUHARI need you people's advise. You are all sponsored by PDP members who are aggrived with individual. |

mekaboy:Abeg, help me ask dem! I cringed when I heard someone trying to justify the 78 million spent, because they had spent some millions on building websites in their office! Chai! Any website that costs more than 5 million to build is a huge scam! ![]() I just hope it is a typo. Maybe they wanted to type, 78,000 or 780,000 or even 7.8 million, and they put in a few extra zeros by mistake! |

socialmediaman:That bank was daft, with a capital D! Oracle, SAP, Microsoft etc, all sell software applications that can do these things. Worst case, ask them to customise a few areas for you, if you want to integrate it to your website. It would cost you a little extra, but it can be done. Get enterprise licenses for all users. If you go to India, you can get software developers that will build these things for you at a far more reasonable cost, than what you have quoted here! ERP solutions are one dime-a-dozen these days, and you want me to believe a bank paid 4 billion for their own? Haba! There is more to this story than you are telling! |

Jman06:I'm a nigga that 've decided not to listen to the noise of the market. I've made my point and I'm standing by it. That said, If it were somebody from PDP, the 'insatiable gluttons' they've and are still proving themselves to be, I will not be surprised, neither would I have gone through the pain cum stress of typing any shi and getting dumb mentions like this very one I am replying, I'll just have let it pass. Deep down in you, you know what I've said is the truth, no ethno-centralism nor bigotry like you've falsely accused. Now, let me elucidate a bit ; I'm not saying Fash is 100 saint, even if he has intentions to be one.... but comparing Fash to Odua nd other big looters of our public funds that graced the 16 long years of PDP's 'predator-like' reign is like comparing the condition of a one eyed man wt that of a deaf dumb and blind- all in one.... I think it's worthy af note that iam no party loyalist neither do I have gains to amass from supporting anybody. I am for everybody and iam for nobody. Also, I usually can't resist the urge to shut the mouth of a pot calling the kettle narcissist and yeah, you are what you said you are; bloody tribal bigot! Sorry, don't quote me again; 1.no time to waste replying lame posts. 2. Our notions will always be irreconcilable 3. No meaningful conclusions will be met 4. I am tired of name calling and pointing accusing fingers because of some set of people; Its stupid and I hv chosen to stop acting so foolish So, stomach your thoughts and start thinking of how you can get yo ass up there. Adieu! |

laudate:That was around 2005 or so, open source ERP solutions were still at infant stages at best, you needed to completely customize and deploy. Still, ERPs cost money for customization, depending on the application, talk about server and network infrastructure etc |

owobokiri post=36725273:socialmediaman: This is the problem with you clannish people. How can you try to juggle facts so brazenly on this issue just to defend your tin god? Did you give Princess Oduah the "benefit of doubt"? Did you "give the benefit of doubt" to Jonathan?? Why is it so hard for you guys to condemn your own?? From the Lekki road contract, through the monorail to this, has fashola left anybody in doubt as to his corrupt penchant to loot Lagos with his oga tinubu? This is exactly how some of you were bussy abusing some Deltans for protesting in favour of ibori. You do this while defending Tinubu. Somehow, it managed to escape your knowledge that your god tinubu is far corrupt than one thief named ibori. . Tribal mutants.Really! !! |
