Is there an official website for atheists? No sir, you are still ignorant to what atheism entails by starting your post with the official website of atheism. This is to show you the true premises btw theist argument and that of atheism. |

Tjayjosh:I'm an "anti conventional-theist atheist, just to be on the safe side. I know that Folykaze is lurking somewhere, waiting to pounce. My background is Christian, which means that throughout my childhood, Allah was already considered a fake God. I used to look at Muslims as fools and idiots, people who were engaging in time wasting on a massive scale. So as far as the Muslim was concerned, I didn't believe in God. All I've done in my present state is to add another God to the list of Gods that I didn't believe in. |

Tjayjosh:no such thing exists. Atheism is not an organization with recognized officials. but they also show an alarming increase among those who once held to some form of faith. When we hear of a prominent figure in Christianity renouncing the faith he or she used to claim, we are leftMany of us are now simply declaring outwardly what we have believed for a long time. The internet has helped. There are several reasons people may define themselves asThe writer is correct but in the wrong way. The reasons he gives are actually very valid reasons to be atheist (lack of evidence, the mishmash of vague and contradictory religious texts, and failure of gods to respond to peoples' needs). True atheistsYou are correct. They are not atheists. However we can be angry at the people who use this god to control, manipulate, and poison the minds of other people. |

A christian believes in Yahweh and lacks belief in Brahma A muslim believes in Allah and lacks belief in Yahweh A hindu believes in Brahma and lacks belief in Allah. . . Every religion lacks belief in other God concept but theirs, an atheist simply lacks belief in all. There have been up to 5000 God concepts humanity has come up with through o history, You as a muslim, Chrisitian or Hindu is atheistic towards 4,999..you outrightly lack belief in these 4,999 other God concepts the only difference between you and an atheist is that an atheist lacks belief in all 5,000 and that includes the 4,999 you lack belief in and yours. |

Half the post is squandered in subtlety emphasizing that atheists can or once held religious beliefs then later on realised its untruth and retracted, that half is pointless sitting that unbelievers also find the faith after years of unbelief. Its also actually harder to disbelief than belief, atheism is supposed to be a stance characterized by the search but lack of belief many share this stance but don't realise or are afraid to acknowledge it, hence it's supposed prevalence is not unfathomable. Op don't get it twisted, when a mango falls from its tree it doesn't become a guava, it's still mango it's only fallen, the only reason it becomes a guava is if wasn't a mango in the first place(hope you know warra mean). That topic needs changing. |

@Tjayjosh, Again, you are exhibiting the usual "half - think" that is common amongst your type. If you were any smarter, you probably would have realized that atheists don't mock or express outrage at gods they don't believe exists, but merely mock the sheer absurdity and contradictory nature of the notion of god, as well as those of you who believe that god exists. |

krattoss:Allah is an Arabic word that means “God” or, more accurately, “the God.” In Western culture, it is commonly believed that the word Allah is used exclusively by Muslims to describe their God, but this is not actually true. The word Allah is used by Arabic speakers of all Abrahamic faiths (including Christianity and Judaism) as meaning “God.” However, according to Islam, Allah is God’s proper name, while Christians and Jews know Him as YHWH or Yahweh. When Arabic-speaking Christians use the word Allah, it is usually used in combination with the word al-Ab. Allah al-Ab means “God the Father,” and this usage is one way Arab Christians distinguish themselves from Muslims. Before the inception of Islam, most Arabs were polytheistic pagans, believing in an unfeeling, powerful fate that could not be controlled or altered or influenced by human beings. Muslims regard Muhammad as the last and greatest prophet, and they credit him with restoring to the Arabs the monotheistic faith of their ancestors. Islam and Judaism both trace their spiritual lineage to Abraham, but the God-concept of Islam is different from that of Judaism and Christianity in some significant ways. Yahweh and Allah are both seen as omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient, and merciful. However, in both Judaism and Islam, God’s mercy is dependent, at least partly and many times fully, on man’s actions. The Islamic concept of Allah and the Jewish concept of Yahweh both deny the triune nature of God. They eliminate God’s Son, Jesus, and they also eliminate the Holy Spirit as a distinct Person of the Godhead, For that i don't believe in Allah. |

@ Tjayjosh You have started this nonsense again . You said " the God concept of islam and judaism (which Jesus Practice ) denies the triune nature of God" . Good ! Why do u say God is triune (3) , whereas Jesus worship Only One God ? Mark 12:29,30 , emphasis on verse 32 |
| Re: Why There Are So Many Atheists On Nairaland And Beyond. by Tjayjosh(op): 10:29pm On Aug 08, 2015 |
Jozzy4:The Muslim and Christian views of God have some similarities. Christians believe in one eternal God Who created the universe, and Muslims apply these attributes to Allah. Both view God as all-powerful, all- knowing, and all-present. A vital difference between the Islamic and Christian views of God is the biblical concept of the Trinity. In the Bible, God has revealed Himself as one God in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. While each Person of the Trinity is fully God, God is not three gods but three in one. God’s Son came in the form of man, a truth called the incarnation ( Luke 1:30-35; John 1:14; Colossians 2:9; 1 John 4:1-3). |

Tjayjosh Why does God permit ignorance? We could easily have been made omniscient. That we are not omniscient suggests that God wishes to keep some information from us. If God wishes to keep some information from us it suggests that the information is detrimental to God. If something is detrimental to God then God is not omnipotent. However God must be omnipotent. So, our ignorance suggests that there is no omnipotent God. This is how I explain our ignorance when it is claimed that God exists. How would you explain our ignorance? |

My rage is not directed at god but at the idea of him sold by some people, which has clearly held so many in one form of captivity or the other. I am angry that a person is suffering, yet hoping, praying and wasting resources on an idea as silly as god, who he was told, brings affliction only to those who don't fear him, yet you that supposedly fear him is in pains, just how is that not enough to make one angry? I am angry at the people who started the nonsense. |

Tjayjosh:thank u very much. Now since u dont believe in allah, an average muslim too doesnt belive in ur yahweh. Now if both exists, if u escape ur yahweh judgement, will u also escape allahs? No cos u think allah is a fallacy and muslims thinks urs is a fallacy also... Now u see why i dont believe in both urs and any other god? |

freecocoa:Sin entered the world when Adam and Eve rebelled against God in the Garden of Eden, and mankind has been in rebellion ever since. Sin’s effects permeate everything, and the suffering we see all around us is a direct result of that sin. But God did not leave us here to suffer pointlessly. Our loving and merciful God has a perfect plan to use that suffering to accomplish His threefold purpose. First, He uses pain and suffering to draw us to Himself so that we will cling to Him. Jesus said, “In the world you shall have tribulation” ( John 16:33). Trials and distress are not something unusual in life; they are part of what it means to be human in a fallen world. In Christ we have an anchor that holds fast in all the storms of life, but if we never sail into those storms, how would we know that? It is in times of despair and sorrow that we reach out to Him, and, if we are His children, we always find Him there waiting to comfort and uphold us through it all. In this way, He proves His faithfulness to us and ensures that we will stay close to Him. An added benefit is that as we experience God’s comfort through trials, we are then able to comfort others in the same way ( 2 Corinthians 1:4). Second, He proves to us that our faith is real through the suffering and pain that are inevitable in this life. How we respond to suffering is determined by the genuineness of our faith. Those with faith truly from God, “the author and finisher of our faith” ( Hebrews 12:2), will not be crushed by suffering, but will come through the trial with their faith intact, having been “proven through fire” so that it “might be found to praise and honor and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ” (1 Peter 1:7). Those are the ones who do not shake their fists at God or question His goodness, but instead “count it all joy” ( James 1:2), knowing that trials prove that they are truly the children of God. “Blessed is the man who endures temptation, because having been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him” (James 1:12). Finally, God uses suffering to take our eyes off this world and put them on the next. The Bible continually exhorts us to not get caught up in the things of this world, but to look forward to the world to come. This world and all that is in it will pass away, but the kingdom of God is eternal. Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world” ( John 18:36), and those who would follow Him must not see the things of this life, both good and bad, as the end of the story. Even the sufferings we endure and which seem so terrible “are not worthy to be compared with the coming glory to be revealed in us” ( Romans 8:18). Could God prevent all suffering? Of course. But He assures us that “all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose” ( Romans 8:28). So even suffering is part of the “all things” that God is using to accomplish His good purposes. His plan is perfect, His character is flawless, and those who trust Him will not be disappointed. |

Tjayjosh:Starting a thread about atheists and then quoting the Bible at us is a big waste of time. Why would you try and prove the Trinity to people who don't believe in god in the first place? We know the Bible is man-made and nothing more than a collection of tales and myths. If you want to have a philosophical discussion, fine, but leave the Bible out of it, otherwise I'll start putting up atheist memes. |
