Sorry his transcript is coming late, his interview went thus;
Him: gm sir
Vo: Morning, and then took his finger print
Him: Did exactly was was asked of him
Vo: so I can see u will b attending Chatham uni in Pennsylvania, tell me y you choose the school.
Him: I choose the school because the schls expenses is inline with my family's budget, also d schl has a small faculty to student ratio of 1:10 with less than 15 students in a class, I had a skpe interview with a professor in the dept of biology(course of study) who told me bou the schls curriculum flexibility, the scholarship opportunities available for first year student in d dept.
Vo: why biological sciences
Him: my interest in the program was as a result of the two yrs lab tech training I underwent in my mum diagnostic lab and also because bs will open me to a wide range of careers. After my degree program, I plan to come back to ng for my youth service and also will like to work with the nation institute of med research.
Vo: why did you change your university
He m: because I was given a conditional admission, and I with ll have to enrol in eng classes full time b4 my major and this would cost me time and money
Vo: why did you change your major, tell me more abt y u made the change.
Him: he started blabbing, didn't know what to say.
Then took he vo gave him a blue paper.

Pls house, there's something strange I noticed on my Bros profile wen he was trying to apply for an expedited date I saw this " your passport is still with the us embassy/consulate" what does this mean and his passport is here with him.

As regards your last paragraph, 2 things are involved. It's either a system error or they thought his passport was retained (which only happens to approved visas).

I'll suggest you mail the consulate informing them of the development and for them to make clarification.

I paid for my FI visa appointment fee yesterday for visa interview meant to be scheduled for 10th of August at the Abuja Embassy. The thing is, up till date, the MRV receipt number keeps on saying, 'No valid record can be found for the entered receipt number'. Please how long does it take for the receipt number to be activated? I plan traveling to Abuja today but this issue is delaying me. What do I do? cry

Its instant activation.

If you get an error like that, it implies two things either its has been blocked for a particular reason or you have mistakenly used it anyhow or somehow..

Try and email them and ask question concerning why you got the message of NO VALID RECORD CAN BE FOUND FOR THE ENTERED RECEIPT NUMBER

Please Is it compulsory to seek a supervisor before funding is granted?
I just want to know if it's a general rule or program specific.

Thanks.

It's program specific.

Please, a friend brother has D7 in maths but with distinction and credits in other subjects, what are his chances of undergraduate admission? walspring, amanze, pcbo and other guru's

He will get admission but his course of study will determine that..

Some schools might ask him to write SAT because of the D7 in mathematics and if he can meet up with the Math score requirement for the school, then he will be granted admission..

There is no definite timeline on getting through the hiring process for the MAVNI program. As I mentioned, it all depends on recruiting cycles. If they need more people they will hire faster - if they don't there will be delays. After you officially enlist in the military the process takes around 10 more weeks until you become a citizen.

Some other things to keep in mind - you are most likely on a 4-year term of enlistment. As others have mentioned, you may get deployed to a warzone as part of that obligation. I wouldn't let that discourage anyone. I went to war twice and came back fine, and I was a combat soldier on the front line as well. The benefits are that you will get expedited citizenship, training, and have steady employment for the duration of your enlistment. You may even enjoy it and decide to stay for a full career.

The first step is to talk to a recruiter - they will have the most up to date information about how quickly recruitment cycles are moving.

@Bold

Nice one and its good to know that you went to war and came back and conquer.. grin grin grin

Visa approved @ the US Embassy, Abuja yesterday.

Got there around 6:30am packaged like a Jehova's witness with my documents' bag.

@7:30 am, we were checked in and did the biometric stuffs.
Fully composed waiting for my turn to reach, I was suddenly thrown off balance with the way people were denied espcially in window 8 (young white lady). Anyway, I decided to catch some fun with some funny stuffs going on there in order to regain my confidence.
(a woman pretended assumed to understand and speak only Igbo language, but when her visa was approved; she asked the attendant/usher why the VO seized her passport 'in pure English' grin ). .........
...It was certain that I would be interviewed by the 'window 8' lady, I tried using the 'toilet formula' but she was still very busy arguing about 'domestic violence' with one man there (for my mind.."oga no gree oh"wink.
The lady @ window 7 then called..

VO:.... (still smiling due to her conversation with the lady she just approved).
Me:....(confidence loading...99%)
VO: Good morning
Me: Good morning ( passed my documents)
VO: Have you been to US before?
Me: No
VO: Why this school?.
Me: It offers excellent research opportunities which tallies with my research interest.
VO: I can see you are going for masters in chemistry.
Me: Yes ma
VO: Why this program?
Me: I intend to be a lecturer upon the completion of this program,..( she starts nodding, still looking @ her computer...then continued typing).. so this program will equip me with the knowledge and research skills necessary for me to succeed as a lecturer.
VO: ...(glanced through my I-20 )..Wow! You got a very nice funding from the school.
Me: Yes ma
VO: May I ####
Me: Pardon.. (..didn't hear what she said)
VO:....(..comes closer to the mic now).. May I see your funding letter please.
Me: Ok....(passed the letter to her)
VO:.....(she perused it, then started nodding like agama lizard)
Me:...(hmm...Obago!!!)
VO: Your Visa has been approved...(she kept on talking but I didn't hear any other thing apart from when she was showing me the resumption date...)
Me: ..(now nodding like the real agama lizard cheesy , ... trying to make sure she doesn't mistakenly pass me my passport) Thank you!!

Very big thanks to Slimmy (de living saint), Seedord (Mr incredible), Profojah( Honorable Professor/Prophet), Bbdd(Mr 'who send you work' cheesy ) Bigfrancis (Chief chef), Walspring, Darklight, Kennyrony, Imperioux, MsNas, Zee..... abeg una plenty!! God bless you all.
