I have seen and heard about second hands goods sold in the market which is popularly called "akube". I have seen funny goods on display like, bra, pants, ball, cap etc just name it.
to my surprise, yesterday I saw a display of wedding gowns. the question is now who buys a second hand wedding gown for her wedding? funny enough this wedding gown on display was just a fine one that you see on these rich men daughter during their wedding.
what do you think of this? can you buy or encourage your friends or relatives to try second hand wedding cloth on their wedding day. and as groom what will be your take on it? it's there any spiritual connection to this?

Girls be sayn they rather buy new one... Well its not evry lady that can afford a new one so why make it sound like if its a crime to obtain a second hand wedding gown.. Is it not the ladies who r formin Behind dat patronize bendown select?

This is what most of those bridal shops buy and re-sell to peeps at outrageous prices...

Someone I know who got married a few years back opted to hire a wedding gown, instead of purchasing one. It was kind of curious because, the rental price was quite high (paid about N12k) for a normal, run of the mill, no designer label gown.

Upon returning the gown few days after the wedding, the lady at the bridal shop was surprised. When asked why, she said, most of their patrons don't bother about returning the gowns. That they mostly end up as second hand gowns in some markets after the folks who rent them, sell them off.

She gave this as the reason why they rent such gowns at exorbitant prices, knowing that most times the customer won't return them. Some who bother to have them returned often bring them back in a state of such misuse, that the gowns become junk.

Another lesson learned.
